Thanks for the update. Life comes back to those who endure. Take care.
Excellent!
I grew up in Seabrook.
Rode down there shortly after the storm to help some friends do demo on their house. It was heart-breaking seeing what toddville road looked like.
Do you know if any more restaurants will be open in the very NEAR future other the two from three weeks ago? We'd like more variety to choose from.
The Boardwalk has a couple more open now; Joe’s Crabshack, Charthouse, Saltgrass Steakhouse and I believe the Cadillac Bar.
I look forward to the boardwalk getting back on their feet in the coming year. Hopefully there will be enough of it open come summer to make it a joyable experience once again.
They’ve certainly been working hard to bring it back. Another Kemah restaurant, T-Bone Tom’s is about 95% done with their repairs and due to open as soon as their equipment arrives. Sadly, in Seabrook, Tookies will probably not return.
Good news, been there many times. My brother is prominent in that area.
I should say if If Health Inspector bothers to show up until Monday. Well, it will open Monday!
Well the food certainly is great at Gaido’s. I believe I saw a picture after the storm that showed it as essentially still intact?? That was the building with the giant crab, as I recall. My late wife switched to the Republican side from independent after we were married. I still remember the irritation her father (very liberal Democrat) expressed when he found out that she had voted for a Republican in a primary a couple of years after we got married.
You have to expect wooden coasters to be violent and I would have been disappointed if The Bullet hadn’t roughed me up a bit.
If you ever want to be totally brutalized on a wooden coaster, head up to King’s Island in Ohio and ride The Beast.
The Rattler in Six Flags Fiesta Texas (San Antonio) used to be hands down the roughest coaster I ever rode, until they had a lot of injuries and modified it, taking all the sting out of it.
The complete lack of leg room was the biggest problem on the Kemah roller coaster.
