Dunno how much it has changed... Not much, at least as of 2004 or so. The wife and I did a long trip in our camper that included the coast of Washington, Oregon and northern California in 2004 and it was exactly as you describe. Much like California and Washington, Oregon is a beautiful state (we particularly liked the Gold Beach area), but it's loaded with a bunch of wacko's. We spent some time in Seattle this past summer, too. What I saw was just another filty city filled with moonbats, lots and lots of moonbats. I won't be going back to Seattle anytime soon, that is certain.....

http://www.oregon.gov/ODOT/HWY/OIPP/mileage_background.shtml This is all a part of the Governor's long range transportation plan that can be seen on his web site. It has been a study that started many years ago and he wants to put it in place now. He has looked into toll roads in various parts of Portland. He wants to double the costs of registration fees.
