100,000 turned out in NYC to see Mondale-Ferraro on the eve of the election.
I'm fairly certain I heard some TV talking-head say that the
biggest US crowds for a presidential crowd turned out for McGovern...
and that went over really well.
(could be the commentator said "largest crowd up to that date"...)

Stockton College! - both my wife and daughter graduated from there - good school......

Yup. But I have a good anecdotal story. Yesterday in rural Pike county PA, some people were by a very busy road with an elephant (a real one) flags and McCain signs and motorists were giving them “thumbs up”.
