This is also the anniversary date of the FR March for Justice rally on the Mall in Washington, DC Oct. 31, 1998.
Great turnout, estimates ranged up to 5000 FReepers from all over America. I was there on that beautiful fall day, have the t-shirt to prove it. My ten year anniversary with FR is next week, although I started as a lurker in July of 1998. As they use to say back in that era ‘Eagles Up’!

Ten years eh?

I remember the Fall of 96! That was in the "time before structure" when FR consisted of a vast stream of comment after comment after comment just flowing by at warp speed on a myriad of topics.

Hey, that was still going on in 98! By 99 that was over (although you can still do it by asking for it ~ gad!).

But who can ever forget the guys focused on the United Nations white painted tanks and artillery pieces mounted on railroad flat cars parked along the Mississippi river? Boy were those the days ~ and we finally have an election where we all realize those ol'boys may well have been onto something, they just got confused about who was going to be doing it.

So, congratulations on your anniversary, and have another tenner (that's Gulag-speak for "ten years").

I got hooked during Dan Rather via Drudge. Haven’t turned back. I have never been a political person, so the shock from family and b/f was unbelievable. My B/f gets pis*ed that I believe everything I read here and on other sites. I gave up on him though I am still with him 26 years. My mom used to asked me after awhile whats the “Freepers” got to say about so or so. LOL. Even my “Lib” sister in Florida knows Obie is TROUBLE and asked me what is the lastest. Jim, thanks for this wonderful site.
