The charitable foundation created by the founder of software giant Microsoft said in a statement that the grants were designed to "explore bold and largely unproven ways to improve global health."

Considering the amount of disease they spread, this is an interesting concept. Good for them.

If they do this and it works, I swear I’ll never swat a mosquito again!
To: Goonch
Actually, maybe this is not so nuts after all. Think it threw... a mosquito sucks out the blood of a diseased animal, and then injects that disease into a human. So, what if you had mosquitoes sucking blood with vaccines in it, and then releasing them to bite everyone. :)

It’s a ridiculous project.
Now if they fund flying beer cans and kegs, then I’ll stop making fun of Gates (side from Vista).

There has been a lot of discussion about delivering vaccines, such as bait for rabies, to wild animals. I’m not sure how effective the delivery will be considering the number of animals and different diseases to be targeted.

Unless you have an allergy that you’re unaware of or simply don’t want the vaccination.

Yeah it would be a perfect way to deploy vaccines or biological weapons. Never mind getting someones consent before you inject them with medicine. Never mind that the vaccine would be impossible to control once released.
We got billions for condoms but can’t afford a cheap one use syringe?

Per their website, they will not fund any endeavor that fights disease in developed countries.
Screw them. Take western money and refuse to fight disease with it? Liberal kooks.

There is a reason the developed countries have been developed. Perhaps they should look to expand those features and forget turning the most deadly lifeform on earth into a uncontrollable tool.

So, are they going to paint little red crosses on the vaccine mosquitoes so you can tell them from the ones that are going to give you malaria?

Nobody sees a locust in that picture above.....it’s not a mosquito. Regardless, it’s a terrible idea and I don’t want things flying around injecting me with God knows what.
To: Goonch
Someone's gonna' screw around with the mosquito's innards and they'll be wiped out as a species.
