Me, too. We fenced in our back yard to keep our dogs in and other animals out. We periodically check it to make sure it is escape proof. We have a smaller house dog and we let her out in the back yard through the back door to do her business. She is never never allowed anywhere but the back yard. If we take her anywhere, we carry her to the car. Not taking any chances.
It has been my own observation that pit bulls are the favorite dog of thugs. They do seem to go together.
I agree with you about a fence. My number one reason for having one is to keep other animals out. Coyotes roam my neighborhood at night so it is a necessity. I cringe at my neighbors who went the invisible fence route.
