I'd take a Mac over a Lenovo any day!
But (at least in the last 10 years) I've built my own, so unfortunately
I don't think I will ever own an Apple.
Or at least I haven't come across one yet...

Plus, I like tinkering. What am I supposed to do w/ something that works?! ;o)

Did you show him Mac Paint?

That won over a whole lot of Mac users early on. You can do that with a computer?

MacPaint started my son as a graphic artist. He moved up to PageMaker and has been using every version of Adobe Illustrator since it came out. And some other things I don’t know the names of.

You sound like by brother-in-law. He has a new computer every year. He buys the components and assembles them. Always the fastest thing around.

That was my start, too. I was a writer for my high school newspaper, and I had a collection of MacPaint graphics that I suggested to jazz up stories. One thing led to another, and eventually the school decided to spring for a Mac Plus, and I was laying out the whole paper (of which I was also the editor). The rest is history.

Quark replaced Pagemaker and has been mostly replaced by InDesign, I haven’t used Illustrator in a while, and I mostly write for the Web now, but at least part of my media career is traceable right back to MacPaint on a 512K Mac.

He has a new computer every year.
What's his (current) os of choice?
And I do remember MacPaint in the mid 80's (graphic arts class.)
Very cool manipulating pixels.
I think I had an Atari 800 at home at the time.
Learned binary from creating graphics on it.
That was right before my Commodore64!
