Oh. It just seems that every time we have one, it doesn’t hit it directly. I never noticed, of course, until I lived in S. FL! Not that I want them to be hit, I just wondered.

No pecan trees here but lots of pines, My front yard looks like a mulch machine has been here with all the pine cones shelled out for the pine nuts. But then they also attack my japanese persimmons.

Yeah, good idea, I need to get my water bottles into the freezer. I always also empty the ice maker a day or two before and bag that ice, so the machine can make more, then I have the freezer full of that, so I can put it in a cooler.

Supposedly the chemicals that go into making the plastic jug come out in the water over time and its not good to drink. In all fairness I did buy some distilled water one time and had to throw it away(walmart) the chemical taste was so heavy.

Nothing at all is good for you. And the more you like something, the less good for you it is.

I think it causes (they say) cancer inducing particles to come off into the water. Phalatates? ( probably spelled that wrong but I’m too lazy to look it up).

how about just putting bottled water into the freezer
my guess is that milk would have a shorter shelf life and a less permanent plastic could be used than that in which they package water
.
To: eastforker
You should plant azaleas under your pine trees! They love the acidity!

and it's fun in mixed adult beverages but it makes beer bubble and foam over

I find certain brands of bottled water have a really plastic taste, and often, if they sit, say in a hot car for a few days, they also get a plastic taste. People can do what they want, but if it tastes like plastic, I’m not sure that’s a good thing!

If I had known I was going to live in a hurricane area, I would never have gotten married on Sept. 3! Doesn’t make it easy to plan a getaway! ;)

Well, after Wilma we could not drink the water for quite a few days (can’t remember, but it wasn’t the full 2 weeks we were without electricity). I used the melted ice for things like the dogs and cleaning stuff (I know, I probably didn’t need to worry, but since there was potential bacteria in the tapwater, I didn’t want to use it to clean things like my countertops.)
