Gustav's position at 1:56 pm EDT - 3 miles southwest of Bainet, Haiti, or 40 miles west-southwest of Port-au-Prince, Haiti.
Motion over the previous 5 hours 38 minutes - northwest (312 degrees) at 12.3 mph.
If Gustav doesn't make the forecast west-northwest turn (and that's a big IF), it should make a Cuba landfall just east of Guantanamo Bay about 5:30 am tomorrow.

Unbelievable! I watched the video of Corrine lying through her teeth while standing among a zillion sandbags on her property. She deserves everything the locals throw at her.
The other one is obviously lying to save her own hide, now that Corrine got caught.

We SOOOO need to do a Hilary storm thread, even if it’s an Eastern Pacific storm. :-)

2 pm model run. This set isn't grouped as tightly as previous sets. GFDL is shifted more to the west, NOGAPS to the east.

Im going to laugh my butt off if this thing slams into NOLA. You know, I wouldnt laugh at all if I heard that a hurricane could possibly hit somewhere near where you have loved ones.
No disrespect, but my family is not stupid enough to live in a hurricane strike zone. IF for some reason we did live down there, we'd build our house out to withstand Cat5 hurricanes and flooding.

CONU. If Masters projection is right re the GFDL track, N.O. is going to take another bullseye beating from an approaching CAT 4- per another model. Still too early to tell, imo.

yep! Despicable, but what else would we expect from the one who was arm in arm with Jessie Jackson just a couple days after the 2000 election crying recount?
Sorry to take things off topic but it’s like the woman never takes a rest!

Does this mean we might actually have to labor this Labor Day weekend?
To: Centurion2000
isn’t it funny how people start a comment with no disrespect, but and follow it with something disrespectful and rude. I’m not going to call you stupid, but your profile says Texas...I hope you built strong enough for an F5.
To: girlscout
Not sure about the weekend but next week about tuesday might be interesting. Tell uncle bill he’s got hurricane duty out at the plant, that will keep him busy.

my family is not stupid enough to live in a hurricane strike zone.If you were king of the United States, then everyone within 200 miles of the East Coast and GOM would move inland. You see, Hurricane Hugo was still a hurricane when it struck Charlotte NC in 1989. Charlotte is 208 miles from Charleston, SC.
Hurricane Fran was still a hurricane when it struck Durham NC 156 miles inland from landfall. Hurricane Katrina was still a hurricane when it struck Jackson MS--170 miles inland.
The remnants of Hurricane Dennis caused flooding in the Ohio Valley--700 miles from the coast.
Be careful of what you wish for...

One of my good friends Richard Stanczyk who owns Bud N’ Marys’ Marina in Islamorada(mutual friend of Max)has been catching swordfish in the daytime for for some 5 years now.
He has a designated angler, Vic Gaspeny, who just set an informal record of most swordfish caught in the daytime at 125 fish. Old record was 118.
Biggest one so far was 445 lbs. That one had to be weighed at the local truck weigh station since it broke the scale.

My family is not stupid enough to suggest that someone who lives in a hurricane strike zone is stupid.

They obviously have a gerrymandered base and like the bozo in NO “william jefferson democrat” can probably get away with anything and get elected forever.

Swordfish in Florida? I love swordfish. Always thought they were cold water fish.
