I like the zig - zag Idea, looks like another four bushes nest year. One thing I do know about roses you have to cut them back, pick a hight and hack ‘em after the bloom, same thing with Rhodes, otherwise they look woody.

Thanks for the post, I have done some of the right things but you post will keep me from repeating my mistake of not doubling the planting, zig - zag. I think that I will extend the hedge next year.
