If London's logo is any indication, London is in trouble if they want to top this:

Creepy commies aside, this was the most tasteful opening ceremony I've seen in a while.

Well considering they invented the darned things, you’d expect the Chinese to put on a good fireworks show.

If I remember correctly, based on rehearsals, there was a good chance it wouldn’t have worked the first time.
The Chinese ceremonies were beautiful and very artistic, but that archer concept had a nice masculine, hair-on-chest bravado about it.

I jumped when his harness loosened on the one side! I thought he was going to fall! LOL I did too! That would have been downer for the ceremony :)

Someone mentioned Vancouver, so I get to post the uber-cute mascots again!

I would wait for the tivo version so you can zap the commercials.
Did anyone count how many NBA players were carrying the flags for different countries? I think I counted 4 or 5.

"Yao Ming sounds just like Obama! "
When the young boy said "Thank you very much, dumb Costas says: "The kid speaks a little English." More than likely, he speaks English a whole lot better than you do Bob.

I believe the Lillihammer opening ceremonies were the best ever. They even did it during the day. 1994 winter olympics.

Awww how cute. Still makes me cringe about that so-called mascot they came up with for the Atlanta games.
