I never knew one day on this earth that I did not feel love from her.

On your last sentence, I got cold chills. I believe my mother loved the ground I walked on. There is no love like a mother's love, I do believe that!

Good Morning, FRiends. Happy Tuesday!
Today's Holiday Celebrations are ......

National Aviation Day and Orville Wright's Birthday.

Orville Wright was born on August 19, 1871.
As boys, Wilbur and Orville loved playing with anything mechanical and investigating how it worked.
Their toys included a gyroscope, an old sewing machine, and a small helicopter like toy operated by rubber bands.
During their youth, they began building their own machinery.
They built a complicated lathe, and Wilbur designed and built a machine to fold newspapers.

National Potato Day (In SD plus the other 49)

Soft Ice Cream Day

Ingredients:
Fresh chicken
1 jar (5 ounces) roasted red peppers, drained
1 can (4 ounces) mild green chilies, drained
2 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons canola oil
2 tablespoons lime juice
1 1/2 teaspoons hot pepper sauce
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon salt
2 sprigs fresh cilantro

Instructions:
Prepare lightly greased grill for cooking.
In food processor or blender, combine all ingredients except chicken; puree until smooth.
Set aside 1/2 cup sauce.

Grill chicken, uncovered, 5 to 6 inches over medium-hot coals about 30 minutes or until cooked through,
turning and basting with sauce 3 to 4 times during grilling.

Serve reserved 1/2 cup sauce as a condiment with grilled chicken.

AND Spicy Food Day!

Good morning, Meg.

That graphic is so cute ... Thank you.
So happy that you got that good rain.

Have a nice nap, but come back and chat after that.

I didn't see any of the Olympics last night. What did I miss this time? :(

:-) You are so right about that.

Right after my mom passed away, a dear friend of mine, who lost her mother a couple years earlier, told me that as long as a person's mother is alive there is still a little bit of "child" in them - no matter how old they are. When she passes away, you not only lose your mother, but that child in you dies too. That impressed me, because it is so true and I'd never thought of it that way before. There is no bond like the bond between mother and child.

Soft Ice Cream: An Irish Blessing (modified)

May the road rise to meet you, but not so fast that it smites your ice cream and you lose your cone.

May the wind be always at your back, and may it not be your mother complaining about how much she just spent on your lost cone.

May the sun shine warm upon your face—unless, of course, it's in the middle of a hot summer day and you wanted the ice cream to cool down.

And rains fall soft upon your fields. Mary, Mother of Christ, it was just sunny. Why is it raining already? What about my replacement cone?

And until we meet again, and please bring the right change this time, may God hold you in the hollow of His hand and protect you from your mother, the sun and the rain—even if you can't hold the ice cream cone in the hollow of your own hand.

.

Well, our gymnast, Nastia, (can't think of her last name) tied with China on the parallel bars, but....surprise, surprise, China got the gold medal and the U.S. gymnast got silver - even though the announcers were in agreement, Nastia's routine was so much better. There is no getting around the fact that thousands of Chinese in the stands chanting every time one of their athletes performs DOES have an impact on the judges.

Our gymnast was not happy, understandably, - after all, she TIED, but then came in second, but she was gracious and smiling up on the podium when she was awarded the silver medal. She should have gotten a gold medal also.

Amy, I think more are seeing through him as the days goes by! When he said giving a definition of “when life begins” that it was above his pay grade, wo why is he ‘pro-choice?

When John McCain was asked the same question he immediately said emphatically “at conception”. The crowd went crazy over his answer! GREAT!

First, turn down the groan volume; then:

Mr. & Mrs. Potato Head

Their Story

Girl Potato and Boy Potato had eyes for each other, and finally they got married, and had a little sweet potato, which they called ‘Yam’. Of course, they wanted the best for Yam.

When it was time, they told her about the facts of life. They warned her about going out and getting half-baked, so she wouldn't get accidentally mashed, and get a bad name for herself like ‘Hot Potato,’ and end up with a bunch of Tater Tots. Yam said not to worry; no Spud would get her into the sack and make a rotten potato out of her! But on the other hand she wouldn't stay home and become a Couch Potato either.

She would get plenty of exercise so as not to be skinny like her Shoestring cousins.

When she went off to Europe, Mr. and Mrs. Potato told Yam to watch out for the hard-boiled guys from Ireland. And the greasy guys from France called the French Fries; and also, when she went out West, to watch out for the Indians so she wouldn't get scalloped.

Yam said she would stay on the straight and narrow and wouldn't associate with those high class Yukon Golds, or the ones from the other side of the tracks who advertise their trade on all the trucks that say, ‘Frito Lay.’ Mr. and Mrs. Potato sent Yam to Idaho P.U. (that's Potato University) so that when she graduated she'd really be in the Chips. But in spite of all they did for her, one-day Yam came home and announced she was going to marry Tom Brokaw.

Tom Brokaw! Mr. and Mrs. Potato were very upset. They told Yam she couldn't possibly marry Tom Brokaw because he's just...................

Are you ready for this?

Are you sure? OK! Here it is...

Marissa starts school tomorrow. I’ve promised myself to finish the laundry today. How can everything be dirty?

I think she is ready for school. She and one of her friends have been on the phone everyday. In fact, when we got home Sunday, there were 6 messages on the answering machine ... Guess what! They were all from Savannah .... saying that she was bored and asking Marissa to please, please call her.

I need to complete some paperwork and take it to school today. It is for the after-school program. Marissa goes everyday because it gives her other kids to interact with.
