Congrats!
Often it’s easier to purchase new if your previous machine is more than 3 years old.
I’m hoping your new laptop has Windows Vista on it. You should find the installation of Dragon Software straight forward.

Dont post anything about mcCain being a good candidate and you will continue pain free.
Ever read the Bible story about Mcain and Mcable?

Yes it has vista and a ton of other things. This seeems to be a spiffy computer. The price was right. I am going to have two docks for it, one at home and the other at work.
So far Vista hasn’t been as bad as I have heard.

Ahem. I will have you know that my desktop was an AMD 64 with Blue Lights and more things I never understood in the front than I can describe to you.
I truly overbought because I was going to go into a media business.

I loved my Sinclair!!!As a college sophomore in 1982, I drooled over the Sinclair, but $100 back then was a lot of money (my '74 Plymouth Duster had cost me $400!)
My first was a Commodore VIC 20 a couple of years later.

I just got a Dell XPS Vista laptop with mobile broadband. No issues. Internet at cable speeds wherever I am. And all of my games are working fine on it (So far).

Goodness!
I remember that machine.
My first machine was the Apple 2e. with an external floppy.
I went on Compuserve.
and watched bits drag by.
Now I go on FR and watch them go by a LOT faster.

I went on Compuserve.CompuServe was my first ISP back in '92. Big bucks to subscribe back in those days for access to a Net that was mostly text (good thing, with my blazing 14.4 modem.)

I was on compuserve in 1982. The bits literally dragged by. It was like watching paint dry but not so much fun. Jim Robinson must remember it.
I unfortunatly have the attention of a cat and cancelled after about three months.
