I read a story about Lorena Bobbit in a pro-life publication sometime after the “event”. The story I read is that one year prior exactly to the date that she did the crime, her husband forced her to have an abortion, and that she mutilated him on the first anniversary of that incident. Supposedly she never got over the abortion and blamed him and wanted to take away his masculinity because she felt that part of her womanhood had been taken away from her.

That one sentence said volumes. I don’t think some people even have the remotest idea of what domestic violence can do, not just to an individual’s physical body, but to their psyche as well.

And there are many men out there that have been abused as well. People will laugh but it is no laughing matter. If a man retaliates, he is often considered the aggressor anyway.

However, the harsh reality is that most violence is against women and many times the bruises are in places nobody can see.

Right after the Bobbitt "incident" many women committed "copycat" crimes. One particular lady tried to skewer her husband's "appendage" with a boning knife but missed and impaled his thigh.

Used that way shouldn't it then be called a "de-boning" knife??

THere was her trial, his surgery, etc ... and in Virginia you have to be separated for a year before you can file for divorce.
