Dang, TC...I’d be investing in a cricket hatchery. I mean, how bad can they be for the Flying Castle? Don’t we need crickets for ...um...”something” having to do with food, reproduction and/or feed/bait? Wouldn’t they find a good habitat in the kudzu?
Crickets eat other ... um, gunk. They’re always interested in the dragons’ salad, before they become the protein course.
I don’t know how hard it is to breed them, but it’s definitely worth looking into, at this point. And if the dragons reproduce, we’ll need *billions* of crickets! They have 25-45 eggs at a time!
Welllll....if you weren’t so far away, I might be interested in a dragon or two...I mean, I LIKE critters....and of course, I’d study up on them, just as you did.
We have “gunk” here. Lots of it. In fact, if you had had the dragons in the fall of 2007, I’d have been most happy to send you a bazillion “crickshits” (as my nephew said.)
It may have been a lucrative enterprise. What say you, NnB? Want to wade in, here?
I quite concur. But this time, at least, I have a few days to unwind before we take off. I tend to be fairly useless the first three days of a vacation -- sleeping a lot, unenergetic and the like. Decompression. Going to be doubly so this time with the change in my job; I was barely able to function the rest of the day after my meeting ended and I'd passed on the gavel.
Turns out the office isn't closed Thursday, though, so I still have another day. Don't want to hurt my foot with too much walking so our state rep candidate will have to do without me on Friday's parade(s), but the rest of the household will be there helping out.
For my part I'm going into Seattle to be there when a member of our parish becomes an American citizen. A recent e-mail noted the hours and minutes until she is (her words) no longer an Indian citizen -- can you say "excited?"
It's odd: she is a member of our parish for all that she's Hindu. (At communion she receives a blessing -- and she is well loved by the rest of the parish.)
Her husband is Anglican. I once attended a service in his old church in India.
I wish (see preceding post).
But I have to say ANY temperature with three or more digits left of the decimal point is WAY too hot, no matter how low the humidity. Prefer the 81F (forecast high was 80F, oh well) and 47% RH -- T'storms supposedly coming in, hoping for a lightshow tonight.
When people take the oath to become an American Citizen, they leave behind all but their cultures. And because of their unique positions, they are usually the very first ones to fight for Freedom in all its many forms.
Congratulations to your friend! She deserves a hug, just because she is an “Undead Citizen By Association!”
Let’s make a deal: You can have all temps below 80 degs, and I’ll take everything over 85. Howzzat? ;o]
I'm not sure how a Hindu would view "Undead by association," but she's a really sweet gal.
Counter-proposal: I take 100% below-70F, 50% 70F - 75F (except where the quantity of such exceeds the available below-70F, the rest to be shed to wherever the rest goes -- Tax-Chick?), and a guaranteed 150 days of drizzle, Gaussian distribution to be centered on 38F.
How's bayou? \;-
What? *looking very confused*
*sob* Nicht werstehen!
WOO HOO!!!!! Just heard some rumbling off in the distance. It's many hours until dark yet, but maybe we'll have a natural light & sound show.
Radar shows precip in 10 minutes. The neighbor who just fired up his riding mower may be surprised, if doesn't hear the thunder...
Sadly, I shouldn't be going on any outings requiring extensive walking so I may be somewhat stuck in camp. [No A/C *\;-( ] Then again, I have a magazine article due a couple days after camp ends, plus a draft technical standard review due about the same time.
Dang! Radar shows precip on top of us, but it’s dry. Oh well, two more opportunities coming up.
Just hope it doesn’t rain on your camping trip.
Shouldn't, but if it does we'll be okay. I've camped so often in the rain, I can't count the times. (Not to mention the snow...)
Rain's a Good Thing. Drives the fair-weather campers away and leaves us the prime spots.
Best wishes to your parishioner! Does she practice Hindu ritual, or just not want to abandon her heritage, as it were, to become Christian?
