American doesn't suck...but it's politicians do

The title of your screed is not 'Our Politicians have been Punked'.

How banal, commen, and oh so in vogue for America to be insulted every 6.5 minutes. Way to step up.

Of course the thing to remember is that we don’t know
what the hell they talked about so this is all just idle
speculation and frankly, Bush bashing.

No thanks.

The government is made up of weakling republicans and little whining democrat ninnies. Both need an endless supply of kneepads so they don’t wear out their knees sucking up to the special interest groups. Real Americans don’t have representation in this corrupt government.

President Bush is one of the worst EO/CIC's this nation has ever experienced.

I will be sure to tell the 100s of wounded warriors, current active military members, Gold and Blue Star parents your thoughts. 99% of them love President Bush, but I will be sure to tell them they are wrong.

his weak energy policies

President Bush does not have weak energy policies...CONGRESS does! What part of how our government works do you not understand?

NWO trade policies

These guys think President Bush tried to end globalization.

You may learn something from this article, and reading the IBD Series may also do some good.

Just stop. He had a Republican Congress for awhile and he has always had the bully pulpit. He didn't make a big enough effort. We're now experiencing that, and it's going to get worse. No, the sky isn't falling, but the demand for oil is going to increase...bet the farm on it.

Now he's all about ethanol (bogus) and alternative energy, now that we're looking at $130 a barrel for oil. Face it, Bush has been asleep at the wheel regarding energy. Or maybe he just blew off his Secretary of Energy when he/she mentioned that China and India are growing exponentially and that will create higher demand for oil. Even a layman like myself could see the development occuring in the emerging markets on the Discovery Channel or National Geographic or name the media. Sheesh.

But instead of facing down Congress and taking his message to the people when he still had power, he wanted to reach across the isle as so many RINOs do. I'm not sure, but he probably lost his veto pen on this matter as he has on so many others.

So what was left for him to do as a lame duck but to schlep over to Saudi Arabia and get rebuffed. Pathetic.
As I told someone above, remember you heard it hear first, our President got punked. It will be written into history, but probably not before we all feel the consequences of Bush's poor action on this issue.

BTW, just as a reminder how serious this oil situation is, petroleum is not only used for transport and heating, it is used in countless products you have in your home. The plastic surrounding the monitor that you are reading right now starts with a petroleum base. You don't think the cost of those products are not going to go up?

But hey, we can always get the new President to go ask for some more oil from the King. Maybe he'll get another laugh at our expense while he builds more palaces and funds more Madrasses around the world.

If you are referring to the Larry King Live interview, that is not what she said. You are spinning stronger than any lib in the MSM. Or woefully misinterpreting what she said.

What she said is that she’s been too busy with her book tour and wedding plans to pay any attention to the presidential race and is not adverse to looking at all the candidates. That is not saying she’s “for Obama.”

Right about that. It's going to get even more serious.

"ALL of your statement are DEMOCRATIC, so why aren’t you posting over at Huffington Post, where you would fit right in! This is a conservative forum, or at least it used to be. Did Obama send you?"

You're a political simpleton. It's either all Republican or Democrat with you, isn't it? FYI, I voted for Bush, twice. I was hoping the second time around he would grow a pair and fight for conservative ideals. I should have taken him at his word since he campaigned and talked like a moderate/liberal..."compassionate conservatism", but was hoping. I lost - so did the Republic.

gee do you think Congress' vote to refuse to allow domestic drilling at the same time might have undercut any leverage the President might have had?

Bingo!

So...CONGRESS punked Our President. How attractive of them.

How do we wash out the modern Augean Stable that we call "congress"?

No I’m a big picture person and not stuck on my own fantasies about what can and cannot be done in Wash, DC, and more objective about what a limited power office can accomplish. Even Republicans are chosen by local elections and influence of their constituency, and do not always agree with party philosophy voting with dems on certain issues. I do understand The Executive Branch and Presidents limited power according to the Constitution.
He has INFLUENCE on certain foreign policies by his appointees, but he is by no means a magician as you expect him to be.
There are many factors UNKNOWN to the general public on which decisions are based. I have already listed his pros, and find you are looking for a fight, not a discussion..so enough said.

VOTE THEM OUT is the only alternative, but depends on how many in their district have drank the KOOLAID.

The trouble with that is that new ones dribble in before we can clean the place out. AND THEN...THERE ARE THE MASSACHUSETTS FOOLS WHO HAVE GIVEN KENNEDY A PERMANENT JOB.

TERM LIMITS!!! Start ‘em now, and we'd have a HUGE new crop.

Then we need a BILL for that, and it's hard to get the fox to vote himself out of the hen house.

" I will be sure to tell the 100s of wounded warriors, current active military members, Gold and Blue Star parents your thoughts. 99% of them love President Bush, but I will be sure to tell them they are wrong."

Frigging puhlease. I probably do more for our Vets in a month than you've done in your lifetime. They can love Bush all they want, but until he put Patreus in charge, the Iraq war was mis-handled. The troops will tell you so. And if you recall, General what's his name wanted more ground troops than Bush would authorize. Get off your high horse. I'm a Vet and love and respect our military.

"President Bush does not have weak energy policies...CONGRESS does! What part of how our government works do you not understand?"

Now you're showing how naive you are. Apparently, you missed my post above about the bully pulpit and the power of the Presidency to promote his agenda anytime on prime time TV, the WH offering legislation for Congress to consider, the Republicans controlling the Executive Branch and Senate and the House, the Secretary of Energy, and most importantly, the power of the veto pen, as in: "I'll veto your wastefull AG bill if you don't consider my Energy bill. Boy, you are so naive.

Because he has the biggest microphone and the most power in DC. He's pretty much ignored this growing issue...

Oh for crying out loud! BDS has effected your rational thinking ability.
READ for yourself, I'm not going to do all the research for you.

"Saudis boosted production. Not a lot, but not nothing."

That was on May 10 before Bush met with the King. Although it may have been in anticipation of the meeting so he wouldn't have to boost production further once face to face with Bush.

I'm looking for a fight? Did you not post this?:
"ALL of your statement are DEMOCRATIC, so why aren’t you posting over at Huffington Post, where you would fit right in! This is a conservative forum, or at least it used to be. Did Obama send you?"

Go on the attack, sir, you're going to get the same. Fair?
