Nana kept asking for a Reuben with lots of sauerkraut, and some onion rings.
That was when she was still on a clear liquid diet, but I was thinkin’ “what could it hurt?”
That’s what I think a lot of times too.
one patient is confusing and insists on going on onto the back porch for a spell even with a broken hip.
Well, it'd be easier if he could smoke in his room. ;~)
You know, I hate to nag about something you’d do anyway, but make sure Cisco’s got lots of cold water in a shady place today. In fact, it wouldn’t be a bad day to fill his pool. It’s supposed to get over 90.
Heh...just givin’ ya a hard time. ;-)
It’s all rather fascinating to read about second hand! Not sure I could actually handle it in reality, though...
Like I told my brother the other day, sometimes I wish I could go through both med school and law school, but without actually having to practice - just to learn some of the lingo and see some of it all from the inside, but without any responsibility. ;-)
That’s a good reminder. I don’t have time to fill his pool, but you’re right, I should make sure he has lots of water.
At least he tends to go under the house when it’s warmish. Hopefully he’ll think to do that today. :-\
I’m glad this is freakishly hot weather for here! And that it’s still supposed to get down into the 40s tonight. I couldn’t live somewhere where it stayed in the seventies and eighties or more at night. Uuugh.
Okay, I need to know what we should do about Abby.
She’s still not moving. When Jr. takes her over to her dish she’ll eat and drink a little bit. (yesterday was the first time she did that). But then she’ll settle back down on the blanket. She hasn’t used her box (we’ve got everything close to her) as far as we can tell since Monday. Of course she didn’t have much reason to go for a couple of days when she wouldn’t eat or drink.
Mrs. thinks it’s the leg, but when it was broken she’d still move around. I don’t know if the pin has come loose and it’s hurting her more or what.
I can probably cover another vet exam. But I just can’t do another surgery. With all the Nana and Jr. expenses, I just don’t have the cash.
But I feel like we’re just watching her waste away.
Thoughts?
I’d take her in, with those limits in place. They understand there are limits.
Yeah, I think you’re right. At least we would know what’s happening.
It’s never a good time. Sorry you have to deal with it on top of everything else.
I asked my brother-in-law why there was any reason that I’m not a crackhead.
He said, “You can’t afford it.”
:-)
See, there’s a positive way to look at anything. All this crap keeps you out of trouble. :~)
I can’t even get my legal drugs. My allergy prescription requries thedoctor’s authorization.
What Hair said. And be ready to make the decision if need be. :-\
Easier said than done...
Mrs. called the vet. The person who answered said “the vet will need to see her because she probably isn’t feeling well.”
Thank you, Captain Obvious, now may I speak to someone who knows what the hell they’re talking about?
On the good side though. The surgery for removing the pin was included in the initial cost. But there would be extra charge for meds, etc. Still that’s much better.
Oh sure... That does help. And I have actually had them not charge me for followups that are a direct result of a procedure... so it might not be bad. Let us know...

I envy your NW temps. Here in NC during last summer’s heatwave it was 90 degrees at 10:00pm and cooled down to a frigid 80 by daybreak.
Yah, while we have to put up with a share of crummy weather here, when it’s nice it’s ~really~ nice. And you’re right about the cool-off at night. Makes all the difference.
It’s an interesting rifle, and it’s fun to play with. I hadn’t held and operated one since boot camp. So far I’ve resisted the urge to spin it. But that won’t last. :-)
But I’m afraid it’s only whetted my appetite. Dang... now I’ve gotta get one that’s all original. It’s that whole “history in your hands” thing.
