Got it. I just ran chkdsk/f and now It's defragmenting.
I had to add my yahoo back on because that's how I get to my email. Next time I restart, it should be back. I'll hold off on everything else until it's finished defragmenting.
I appreciate your help very much.
I use spybot and adware. I run them daily.
I'm gonna leave IE alone until I'm finished tweaking firefox.
NP, FRiend.

By that you infer confidence that you are adware/virus free...
Do you recall a recent update in Firefox or Windows? Perhaps a recently installed add-on, or program? What I am looking for here is a cause- It was running fine yesterday, what has changed?
First time I've ever done something like that. I always buy cd's and then download on my media player.
Hmmm... Sends up no flags with me... Quick check on the web doesn't either...
McAfee's SiteAdvisor doesn't have a problem with them either...
Probably just an update to Firefox that choked on one of your extensions...

Playlist.com is a nice site for free tunes then.
Thank you for that link.
There is nothing to be 'afraid' of, though it is always best to run as light as you can- FF will start way faster if it isn't firing up a ton of EXT's... Even so, turning them back on won't kill you. The one that tips it over will be identified soon enough, then just go in safe and take that one out...
Are you running fine then?

I don't know that, but usually a websearch with 'spyware adware' plus 'whatever is in question' will bring a ton of hits if it is bad.

I don't feel safe on that site now. A computer savvy person would know how to check songs that could be embedded with viruses. I guess I'm too trusting on folks having good intentions. My troubles started after I downloaded it. I have my headphones on listening to my media player - I know that's safe. Sing your heart out George Jones. lol
Excellent.

Can't go wrong with MP3's (.mp3)... they don't 'run' (They are merely read), they have no DRM built in, so they can be transferred between machines, copied, etc... Same with Ogg Vorbis (.ogg). For that matter, I can't recall ever finding a music file with a virus... video files, yes, but not music.
I use Media Monkey for my MP3s, letting WiMP handle all the rest... MM has a neat little ripper in it (for ripping from/to CDs) Anyway, my mp3s are all in a separate folder from the rest of my media files, and the only thing that accesses it is MM. Makes it a whole lot easier to keep a clean library.
Good ol' George Jones... More a Waylon / Toby Keith / Trace Adkins type of fan myself, but George will always do in a pinch :D
