Which is the funny part. Its all kind of stupid, but Im not a cat person. ...nor an engineer I take it. I noticed in the comments that lots of people didn't get it. You have to be 1) a cat person, and 2) have an engineer in your life to totally appreciate it.
Having had cats and engineers in my life for many decades, I laughed my ass off!

Cats [like Californians]
let you share
THEIR space.
There, I fixed it. I love cats and dogs, too and have always had both.

Mrs: Read my post again please. It was just an attempt at humor. I really have always liked cats even though they sometimes (ok, maybe most times) do not like me.
I have been very kind to cats, especially after our daughter's cat became unfortunately entangled in alternator belt, resulting in a broken major leg bone. I took the cat to the emergency room, to the vet the next day and carefully nursed it back to completely good health (just amazing), after spending a fortune on our uninsured feline.
When I was taking the cat home from the kitty ER, the cat bit my finger through the carrier. About a week (or two) later the lymph nodes under my arm swelled up tremendously, later reaching the size of a lemon. I got very sick with the infection and was worried about what I had. I remembered later that I had had a scratch on the finger that the cat had bitten me on, and surmised that I probably had gotten cat scratch fever from the bite.
Well, after several weeks of recuperating for me and several more for the cat, nearly $1000 in medical expenses we were again good as new.
I don't think the cat ever appreciated the trouble I went through for him.
