I got a bit of a chuckle out of it.
She might have financed it herself. There’s a whole industry for plastic surgery related loans. I think the breast job loan is a baloon payment.
It is disgusting. I walked to school. Now they have parking spaces reserved for driving very expensive cars. Sad and outrageous all at the same time.
Tragic. What a reason to die at 18.
“all the boys still just talk about the size of a girls chest when considering a date”
in this time and age we cannot limit this to just boys.
Do you want the mean, nasty, snarky answer or the enlightened, carefully thought out answer?
NOT funny.
Five large is much more than the going rate, which in my city is $2995.
“The article did not say the paramedics gave transport. It said they gave “aid”.”
Seems to me the article clearly DID say they gave transport:
“Paramedics were summoned to the teen’s aid at the Boca Raton outpatient surgery unit where she’d had the procedure, and they rushed her to Delray Medical Center. She died there on Saturday.”
“A few days ago there was an article about an abortionist whose patient died because the only three people in the room were the patient, himself and the non-medical office assistant.”
Are women getting abortions usually put under (I don’t know the answer to this)? If not, there’s no need for an anesthesiologist or anther doctor.
You’re just a piece of work, aren’t you? I didn’t find it amusing in the least, not even the slightest twitch of a smile crossed my face as I read your insensitive comment. I’m willing to wager it’s the same for most here on FR. Because this young girl died as a result of “cosmetic surgery” gone wrong, you think this is amusing and OK to crack jokes? You’re a loser in my book. I’m glad I’ve found that people like you are in the minority on FR.
To the poster who wondered about the girl’s parents: It is possible to be a good parent and have a child with self-esteem issues. One of my daughters is considered very pretty by “society”, she knows she is pretty, but still craves the attention to confirm it. My twins were constantly being compared by others when they were growing up with one found “wanting” in the looks department. They are both pretty to their mom, but it’s difficult to deal with how the perceptions, positive and negative, of others damages the psyche of a child.
Kids today seem far more likely to get tattoos and piercings, and cosmetic surgery is seen as just another thing. This is kind of a freak accident.
Why do teens feel they must have cosmetic surgery? Vanity certainly has a price.
Now, that being said, one of my nieces had breast reduction surgery last year. She was suffering from horrible back pain. She feels much better now. But this wasn’t about vanity.
Was the “breast surgery” in the case of this thread a vanity operation, or something similar to what my niece had?
I laughed as well. Seems like you've been bushwhacked by the church of the pertually outraged. I hear they have a lot in common with Reverend Wright and NoI for being so easily offended.
Was it rude and slightly uncouth ... yep. Should everyone being tearing into you like Malcom X bamboozling on a cracker? NO.

Agreed. And the attitude her parents may have communicated to her as she grew up.
Very sad.
One of my daughters is considered very pretty by society, she knows she is pretty, but still craves the attention to confirm it.
She can start putting out ... that seems to gather more attention than a woman knows what to do with.
My twins were constantly being compared by others when they were growing up with one found wanting in the looks department. They are both pretty to their mom, but its difficult to deal with how the perceptions, positive and negative, of others damages the psyche of a child.
Life is harsh ... get a helmet and good luck.
Not all conservatives are from the Holier-than-thou pew. Some of us are more SouthParkian in attitude.
There is no such thing as “routine” surgery. I knew a guy who went into the hospital for a fairly simple nasal surgery. He was in a hospital room following surgery. He got up to go to the bathroom and fell there and bled to death from the reopened incision in his nose, before a nurse found him on the floor.
She was 18 and legally an adult.
