Another fun thing that two-year-olds do not enjoy is organized activities. Most two-year-olds are happiest when they are free to wander around in a non-organized way. Oh,no! That's me in a nutshell! Does this mean I've never advanced beyond a two-year-old's maturity????? ;-)

too funny!
we have this to look forward to for a gang of 6-7 yr olds
next saturday. yes, we’ve foolishly decided to have the
princess’ party at our cottage. i’m bound to be a dead
mommy by the end of the day as papa bear, on crutches,
will be of very little assistance.
so where do you pick up one of those moonbounces anyway?
they won’t mind bouncing away outside in the middle of
the winter, right?

When our daughter had her 2 year birthday, we held it at the local park and let the kids play all they wanted before blowing out the birtday candles and cutting the cake. Then, we threw all the plates and cups in the trash, and left for home thereby not getting our house all mucked up! Parks are great and I highly recommend them for atleast the first 5 birthdays. My son’s birthday falls smack in the middle of August in Arizona - guess what? Pool parties are even easier and they really wear themselves out and no organization is necessary. Add a few water toys and you are set. Parents who spend hundreds of dollars on organized parties must be regretting their own childhood and trying to somehow compensate for it.

Uh, yeah. I will get one on Tuesday...

Look up “Party Rentals” in your phone book. You can get yourself a margarita machine, too :-).

it’s a much bigger challenge for parents when the kiddos
birthdays are in the winter. we have to plan inside parties
and many times had to cancel because roads were not safe
to drive on. :(
kelly bug actually want’s her party at home this year so we
obliged. sure beats another round at chuck e. cheeses! ;)

I was in charge of rentals for our church festival the last two years. I have not personally rented anything for a family party. Good luck!
