I think you must have unwittingly changed your preferences.
I did this and it won’t let me change back. I click on the message option, but it doesn’t change. To get the messages I have to log out. Goodbye (logging out)...

Try this: go to “Threads/ Messages” on the top right of the page.
Click on “threads”.

I do that but it keeps resetting. I can look at all messages from all the forums together. But I no longer have a way to look at posts just from news and keep it that way. I have to keep going back to the main page and reset my preference for posts 20 or 30 times an hour... its really a pain.
It also really defeats all the the mods do keeping non-news out of the news section. Hopefully this is just a phase Freep is going through.
