The best Final Four would be David Cook, Johns, Carly and Brooke. The final two should been David and Carly.

I think he did get the least amount of votes. Had TPTB wanted to get rid of him they could have. They had already set a precedent with Frenchi DAvis, but instead, they came out in several interviews saying they not going to make it an issue and they were going to let the viewers decide.

I think the viewers did decide. Two weeks in a row in fact.

Jasaon and Brooke fall into the same spot for me, so I think one of them will be missing from the final 4.

Hmmm... maybe.

Not gonna lose sleep wondering!
In any case, his sleazy past sunk him, didn’t it.

And TPTB will be able to say it was America’s choice.

You are right, they are both talented in the same way.

I think we should try to predict what songs these guys will pick to sing next week. I would say that the best song for Jason would be "Here There and Everywhere". It really fits his soft spoken voice and it is an excellent song to sing with an acoustic guitar. (But I think he really needs to invest in a better guitar. The one he plays now sounds kinda weak and tinny. I suspect that "Taylor" would gladly ship him a nice dreadnought if he promises to point the headstock at the camera a few times during the performance).

I think Brooke may actually take a stab at "Yesterday." I think she could pull it off. Its a very emotional song and she emits emotion better than anyone else in the competition.

I think his past did sink him, and I think the video of Danjaya dressed like a girl did him in. I read an article where he says his private life is his business. Well, that’s part of the ‘whole package’. Michael Jackson’s private life wasn’t his business so why should these guys expect to be treated differently than huge stars? No matter how we may feel about Jackson these days, he was once a huge star.

He is right though, ‘things happen for a reason’.

Like you, I’m not losing any sleep over it either. :)

You are right, they are both talented in the same way.

They are also limited in the same way.

Are they still limited to just the early years next week? I'm not that familiar with the Beatles early material and just what the time frame for that is.

One song I thought of was Norwegian Wood, but like I said, I don't know enough about the Beatles songs/time frames.

Christy Lee is really a country girl.

She’s from a little town just a few miles from here, and it truly “country.”

It’s got lots of ranches and farms, used to be the industry was logging, now it’s rural wood-based and small farms, and the music most folks listen to IS country.

There’s a restaurant right up the road from her house, and the paper said her Mom and family come in there all the time, they have “Christi Lee” days where they sell hot dogs and watch Idol.

I hated the performance, by the way, just hated it, and I love country.

But real country, Alison Krauss, Ernest Tubb, Ricky Skaggs, Bill Monroe, Hank Williams, etc.

Very good analysis.

Just a note about Jason...he is the most laid-back singer and performer I’ve seen since Perry Como. That was what drew everyone to Perry...he made you feel relaxed and happy.

You put into words exactly how I feel about Jason.

P-Marlowe did also with this statement about Jason:
He is not an exceptional singer, but he sings exceptionally.

Thank you both. ";^)

The problem with Castro is his dreads. They've very distracting and they take away from his vocals. He's got a decent voice and he'll probably be around a while unless he makes a big mistake.

Carly has a similar problem with her teeth, death stare and disgusting tattoos. Although I really don't think she's as good of a singer as everyone seems to think, those items can be distracting.

Elliot Yamin was clearly the best vocalist a few years back but his “talent” was overshadowed by his bad teeth.

Melinda Doolittle was clearly the best vocalist last season but she had no neck. Hence, she didn't make the final 2.

I don't think Carly or Castro are as talented as Elliot and Melinda was but my point is that most people are very distracted with people appearance.

David A is the favorite this season. He's got the teeny bopper vote in the bag but I think David Cook is going to give him a run for the title. He's very talented and appears to have the “song choice” think down pat. (Dick Nixon was the only president to get it down pat....but I digress)

Prediction: I guy named David will win this season. There won't be a female in the finals 2.

Did you ever watch the old Mary Tyler Moore show?

There was a scene in which the crusty ol’ Lou Grant says with a smile to Mary “Y’know what, kid...you got SPUNK!”

Mary smiles, then Lou draws in a deep breath and yells “I HATE SPUNK!”

Absolutely hilarious. They don’t write shows like that any more.

And the distracting problem with David A is the lizard-like lip lick thing that is a habit with him during his performances. It drives me insane in a bad way.
I have noticed that David Cook is trying really hard not to look down his nose at the camera during his segments; now if he'd only do something about that disturbing hairdo...

I picked Taylor Hicks to win when I first saw him perform and I'm picking Amanda this time. I'm probably wrong...but I don't think so. Just a feeling.

Yeah, unfortunately I did too. The problem with Taylor is no matter how good he may be live, it will never translate to record sales. Why? His song writing will never appeal or fit around today's popular genre.

I liked Taylor, and realize now it was because of his unique voice and stage performing, but as an American Idol and popular song writer, no way he makes it. Amanda has exactly the same formula, and the female Elvis thing is starting to grate on me terribly!

I guess folks watch American Idol for different reasons.

How I’d love to see an Elliot or a Melinda this season.
They were above and beyond.

Jordin Sparks Gets Tattooed 3/14/08

http://www.celebrityspider.com/news/march08/article031408-14.html

American Idol winner Jordin Sparks celebrated her birthday by getting herself tattooed.

The singer turned 18 at the end of last year (Dec07) and decided to have her brother Phillippi’s initials and her favorite bible verse etched on her.

She now has ‘PJ’ tattooed behind her left ear and ‘Timothy 4:12’ on her wrist.

She admits the verse is very important to her: “It says `Don’t let anyone look down on you because you’re young, and instead set an example in life, faith, speech and purity.’

“It’s a daily reminder. I like it.”

Found this and its a WHOot, thought you’d like it. :)

I do not like Jim Carrey.
I do not like him in The Mask.
I do not like him to talk so fast.
I do not like him in Liar, Liar.
I do not like him, his schtick is tired.
I do not like him here or there.
I do not like him anywhere.
I do not like him pimping his movies during AI results shows.
I do not like him dressed as an elephant with great big toes.
I am not a fan.
I do not like him, Ryan-I-am.

A group-sing! A group-sing! Would you like to hear a group-sing?

Yes! A Beatles group-sing! I could, I would like a Beatles group-sing!
One song, two song, old song, blue song. “All My Lovin’”, “I Feel Fine”, “Can’t Buy Me Love”. See them sing, 12 little stars. What a lot of stars there are!

Say! A dramatic elimination! Would you like to see a dramatic elimination?

I would, I could, like to see a dramatic elimination.

Would you, could you, like to see
The first of the bottom three?

Yes. Some are sad. And some are glad. And some are very, very, bad.
Carly, Micheal, and Jason are glad.
Syesha, though, is pretty sad.
Why are some so bad?
From there to here, from here to there, bad singers are everywhere.

A Ford commercial! A Ford commercial! Would you like to see a Ford commercial?

NO. No, I would not like to see a Ford commercial.

Try it! Try it! Try it and you may. Try it and you may, I say.

Ryan! If you will let me be, I will try it, you will see.

Say! I don’t like Ford commercials! I don’t like them, Ryan-I-am. I will never be a fan.

Oh me! Oh my!
Oh me! Oh my!
A movie premiere, so many tickets we’ll buy!
The Idols shake hands with Steve Carell
The stories that they’ll be able to tell!

Say! More results! More results! Would, could you, like to see more results?

Yes. Here is one.
Here is one more that is done.
Chikeze, Amanda, and David Cook are free.
Oh, but it is not to be, for our pretty blonde Kristy Lee.
From there to here, from here to there, bad singers are everywhere.

Ryan! Would you, could you, talk to fans?
Would that fit into your plans?

Jason gets put on the spot
The judges get in some knocks
And Ryan, it is very clear to me
That you and Simon are meant to be.

See Katharine McPhee!
See McPhee sing to thee!
Excuse me, please, I have to go pee.

I’m back. Ryan-I-am, I’m back. Can you please eliminate another hack?

Patience. There are still many minutes to go. Some eliminations are fast, and some are slow.

Ramiele, Brooke, and David A.,
For this week you get to stay.
David Hernandez, I’m sorry to say
This is the week you may go away.
From there to here, from here to there, bad singers are everywhere.

Say! Look! An hour has gone past!
How much longer can this last?

Not much longer, you will see. Look! Syesha leaves the bottom three.

The bottom three are only two. Who will go home sad and blue?

David H. and Kristy Lee.
Kristy Lee, week 2 you’ll get to see.
Ah, but David H. - American Idol you’ll never be.

Dr. Seuss I may be not,
But next week it’s more Lennon-McCartney we’ve got,
And as Randy would say – dude, that’s hot.

Spies on His Neighbors With Telescope 3/16/08

http://www.celebrityspider.com/news/march08/article031508-2.html

American Idol judge Simon Cowell has adopted a strange hobby - he likes to spy on his neighbors.

The music mogul installed a telescope in the kitchen of his Los Angeles mansion after watching the 1979 movie 10, in which actor Dudley Moore’s character snoops on a nearby resident.

He says, “I saw that Dudley Moore film and it was great. Afterwards, I got a telescope installed in my kitchen so I can spy on people. I look out over the Hollywood Hills into my neighbors’ gardens. It’s an amazing view.

“It isn’t powerful enough to see into their homes - so you can’t see them in the shower - but you can see into their gardens. It’s great fun. I just like to keep an eye on what is happening.”
