Thanks to you for all your work in helping to make this season even MORE memorable!
I have learned a lot about the SEC football conference, that they do have depth, size, and also speed. Also if they start up slow, the will soon thereafter get the job done.
Also to GOP_Raider, MANY THANK-YOUS for an excellent college football season threads hosting. Enjoy your off-season rest, please do enjoy the college basketball and baseball seasons, wish you all the best in your next seasons fall college football season game days tailgating plans, please do stop by Connecticut’s Rentcheler Field in East Hartford, CT, and have a good 2008 year ahead. =^..^= :)
This college football season that has just past, has been a fun one. :)
Not bad considering you did it right after midnight and you wanted to get to bed.
Many thanks for a job well done. Enjoy your off-season. :)
The picture looks great. Did you attend Utah? Thanks for the response. :)
I think for Perdogg, who is an UNC Tarheal fan, the men’s basketball team is still at number 1.
“Who was ranked #1 defensively in the nation? Who stood at #1 for most of the season? Oh, that’s right...OSU!”
Considering OSU is playing teams like Akron, Youngstown, and Kent, not to mention most of the Big 10, those stats don’t really mean much. Akin to being the world’s tallest midget....
BTW, OSU just happens to “fall flat” whenever they play an SEC team. 0-9. Must just be coincidence...
“As a gator fan, I agree. I would love to see a double elimination playoff. One midwest team, USC, and one ringer and the rest from the S-E-C.”
I’m an Auburn guy and would love to see the same (see 2004). But this game last night practically guaranteed that Delaney and the Big 10 would be opposed to any playoff. The current system is the only way Big 10 teams can get in the big show. SEC teams beat the hell out of each other and still kick the crap out of OSU.
Yes it is. Since 1990.
Thanks for your hard work! It’s been one wild and wooly season.
Let’s do it again next year!
HOOKUM HORNS!
Your welcome.
Looking at your picture I must say I’m very surprised! I thought I had been posting to Erin Andrews this whole time! ;O)
Oh commish, if possible, can you please give a final listing of the conferences. You did good with that and want to know in number figures where the SEC stands. Thanks for your excellent insight about both college football in general and the SEC in a special way. Take care. :)
Number figures that are point number figures. :)
Overall it has been an excellent college season. Looking forward to next season. :)
Now it is off to my favorite college sport, basketball. The lady Huskies of UConn are on fire! The men have made a whole lot of improvements, despite the lost to Notre Dame. Go UConn!!!!
Also got from sending a Christmas card to Coach Edsell, and to both Coachs Aureiamma and Calhoun and in turn got two cards, one an autographed picture of the women’s team in the American VI. =^..^=
Opps, should have posted, “excellent college football season”.
FINAL Conference Bowl Standings :
Sun Belt 1-0 MWC 4-1 SEC 7-2 Pac 10 4-2 Big 12 5-3 Big East 3-2 CUSA 2-4 Big 10 3-5 WAC 1-3 ACC 2-6 Indies 0-1 MAC 0-3
GOP, just wanted to say thanks for all the hard work this past year. Thread is always a lot of fun, and I really appreciate all the hard work you put into it. Thanks again.
Y’all tackle like a pack of brownies! Seriously that is some deficient fundamentals across the board on your team.
Yes, this season’s women’s team the likes I have not seen since the first winning team, what I call the Charter team of 1995. There is no team that can take them down. The only other women’s team that could offer a challenge and I am still very dissapointed that the coach decided to take her orange uniform and go home is TN Lady Vols.
This is just a guess, I could be wrong, but it would not suprise me if Pat Summit decided to quit the yearly rivarly between CT/TN because when Coach Geno was able to recruit Freshman player Mayra Moore from Georgia, an SEC state, knowing that she would tip the balance of power back to Storrs, CT from Rocky Top, TN, from Coach Pat back to Coach Geno. This new player addition must have driven Coach Pat so crazy anger and regret that she ended this game series. Wonder if she has been “banging her head on the wall” seeing that UConn has taken over the #1 spot in women’s college basketball. Miss those fun rivarly games, the women’s college basketball answer to Boston/NY Yankees.
At least I take confort knowing that the two teams could meet on the basketball court in early April in the Championship Game. :) =^..^=
I also have another term for that rivarly, and when it went to the Championship round, women’s basketball answer to the famous chariot race from the movie, “Ben Hur”. :) =^..^=
OSU was a complete embarrassment. ...soft non-conference schedule + weak conference = predictably lousy performance in championship game. In any 8-team playoff system the Buckeyes would’ve been ousted in the first round, preventing the BCS embarrassment we saw last night.
