Been out and about, had lunch at a new Thai place in theshire, excellent food (no crunchy things in LSA’s curry this time) we ordered medium spicey not knowing what their interpretation of mild, medium, hot was; it was fine. Gypsy enjoyed her looong walk, me thinks she’ll enjoy her nap now even more than usual.

It is! It’s kind of an icey little dinky snow, but we’ll see how it goes!

It does appear to be accumulating a bit, but it’s kinda warm out there...so who knows.

Heh...Cisco’s water bowl was frozen again this morning. And now it’s too full to put any on top. I was only going to be gone for a short while, so I didn’t bother doing anything with it. Apparently it ticked him off, though. I came home to find the bowl tipped over, the block-o’-ice contents on the lawn, and the bowl in pieces.

I guess I need to get him a metal one. Only then he might end up getting his tongue stuck...

Well, or a tougher bucket. I know all about how to tip ice out of a frozen bucket so I can fill it. I can show ya, come on over we can do the horse buckets ;~)

Well, got a good stick pile burned in the back forty... there's so many downed branches back there we could have one of these stick fires every 20 feet or so ;~), which we intend to do. We started at the old fire ring in the witches circle...

Find the beagle in the fallen leaves contest :~)

Find the beagle in the campfire contest :~)

Homer telling ecurbh some kind of sad story...

Gidget warms up by the fire...

And it was just about burnt up when the snow started falling. :~) Not sure how much snow we're going to get... we'll see :~)

I started painting the computer room...made a trip to Home Depot, got some paint, and finished with the ceiling. After a short break, I’m going to finish prepping and taping off two of the walls for painting. I have to move the computer and furniture to do the other two walls. I don’t know if I said it here or not but it looks like the computer room was once a kid’s room. There are little pinholes all over the walls.

Or a deeper bucket. This one is shallow enough that it froze solid on a few of the colder nights. And the plastic is brittle when it’s that cold, so I’d already partially cracked it when trying to get the ice out of it.

It’s actually still sort of usable for the moment...just has a big chunk out of one side. Making it still more shallow. ;-)

The campfire contest is easier. ;-) Looks like a productive morning!

I have bread about ready to go in the oven, I picked up one more cheap bookcase from a place that *reeked* of incense, and got groceries and stuff. So there’s that.

Now need to do laundry and, eventually, bring in the bookcase so I can put my office in order.

Could have got even more burned, but ecurbh had a game to watch ;~)

Need help carrying bookcase in?

I haven’t seen any of the newer Battlestar. I recently finished watching the original online through Netflix.

Nah, it’s small and really lightweight. Pine, I think. It’ll do for paperbacks, though, which is what I wanted it for.

Not the same thing at all!

I’ve seen just enough of the old one to see that they really don’t have a lot in common aside from the name and the names of some of the characters. And if you did watch it, I’d try to wipe the slate clean and not try to draw parallels between old characters and new — they’re just not the same at all. I think many of those who didn’t like the new one expected a remake / continuation, and didn’t like what was done to change their favorite characters.

The new one is *amazing* for those who like space dramas, and really well done. However, it’s also a lot darker in a lot of ways. All characters — even the best of ‘em — are flawed, and some are pretty durned icky. It’s not a show for kids.

But I like it a lot. Some of the episodes are a little hit or miss, but most are pretty good. And it has an incredible amount of depth and detail for a TV show, both from a visual standpoint and from a story standpoint.

mmm brush pile burning..that sounds like a very productive afternoon. Dogs all seem intrigued by the ‘campfire’. Guess Barkley’s leash is to remind him that he should stay put.

Was Ecurbh telling Homer that there weren’t going to be any smores? That might play into the ‘sad story’.
