If you dont even know what Jimmy Page LOOKS like, why are you posting to this thread? Must be a slow news day for some people.

I didn't find them to be all that great in concert... I thought that then and still do now. I have the somewhat-recently-released How the West Was Won 3-CD package recorded over two nights in L.A. in 1972. It is fun to listen to and it rocks, but they just aren't that good. The Who played awesome shows in '72 and beyond. The Stones, ditto. Zep always was a lot of hype. Talented musicians for sure and a lot of their studio stuff is still great today, but as a live act it really was mostly bluster and bombast.

The Who absolutely ROCK in concert. I have never seen them live but I’ve seen a lot of footage from their shows .... the prototype for a band on stage.

Here is the heart and soul of the beginnings of Led Zeppelin,
The Yardbirds. The Yardbirds changed their name to Led Zeppelin about a year after Jeff Beck left the group and the change could be legally made.
I was at the Led Zeppelin concert in the Filmore West in San Francisco in 1969... See here

I am very aware of the Yardsbirds, I play the original “Train Kept a-Rolling” and “The Shapes of Things to Come” on my guitar all the time. Probably one of the MOST underated bands of the late 60’s. Has there ever been a group that pumped out that many world-class gutarists?

Now if the Who/Beatles try something it would be interesting...
Ladies and Gentlemen, I present - “The Whotles!”
It just might work!

"If you dont even know what Jimmy Page LOOKS like, why are you posting to this thread?" Lighten up. That's what I get for trusting the title on the link w/o viewing the link.

Aaak! Now that's scary!
I do have to give the Captain some props for playing with the Beach Boys, though.

Persistent internet rumor has it that John Bonham’s “Moby Dick” was actually penned in unrequited ode to a young Randy Bachman. ;)

Go here to hear/see Jeff Beck and Eric Clapton (of the Yardbirds) play Stairway To Heaven before there was a Led Zeppelin Group.Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton, and Jeff Beck. (For sure.)
After the death of John Bonham and demise of Led Zepplin. (Almost certainly, in fact I think I was at the show in the clip.)

I sell books and records on Ebay. There is a demand for Led Zeppelin stuff. Their albums still sell. I think a concert with all the t-shirts,programs,ticket stubs, etc, will rake in the bucks.

I would love to see them again.Me too. I saw them at the Messehalle in Nuremberg, Germany in June 1980 while stationed there. They opened with Rock n Roll, into Black Dog,into Houses of the Holy, and then into Hot Dog. It was a minute into Hot Dog when Bonham passed out while playing and the band never returned to the stage after about an hour of being asked to "stand by". Our tickets were to have been good for the rescheduled show, which never happened because Bonham passed away less than a month later.
I still have the ticket and a t-shirt, which I take good care of.
