I am being WAY lazier than I oughta be this morning....considering I have more cookies to make, presents to wrap and clothing to plan for the next 2 days. Did I mention that I have two black eyes to try and "make-up?" This is the most bizarre thing! I think I've only had a black eye two other times in my life. the first was when I was in about 2nd grade and got hit in the eye with a baseball. The second time was when I was 19 and in a car wreck. Now I have 2 in one week! What are the odds? The first one....don't laugh....I got up in the middle of the night and went to the kitchen the other night. Now mind you, I never turn a light on when I get up at night but it isn't THAT dark and I know my way around the house pretty well. Anyway, I walked right smack into the corner of one of the hall closets. Caught me right above the eyebrow of my left eye. If the discoloration would've stayed there, my bangs would've covered it up....but NOOOOOO. My whole eye swelled up and turned black and purple. that was a week ago. The swelling is down, but the discoloration isn't improving much. Well, anyway, as if that wasn't bad enough, Friday night I was looking through my scrapbooks for a specific page. Now some of my scrapbooks are the big 12 x 12 ones. I smacked myself in the OTHER eye with the corner of one of the scrapbooks. It isn't as bad as the first one, but it is black underneath, too!
The day after I got the first black eye, I had to go to an MDT meeting....we have them monthly to review cases in common. These are meetings that include representatives of our agency, several state and local law enforcement agencies, schools, prosecutor's office, juvenile probation, hospital, etc. You can bet that was fun trying to explain a very nasty looking black eye to a room full of naturally suspicious people. LOL!

Check out
this dress. Isn't it pretty? Ann Taylor Loft is having a sale. Doesn't help me much right now considering that I'm already over-extended, but if this one is still around after Christmas, I just might have to consider it. Maybe it will be reduced even more.

"New boyfriend, and two black eyes in the first couple weeks???"He thinks it's funny. I told him if he didn't quit teasing me about it, I was going to tell people that he did it. LOL!

Well, I already have the black silk one that is pretty sexy. The red one might be nice for Valentine’s Day. We are already planning to do the Chocolate Festival that weekend. Unfortunately, our “lovely” city government/event planners have decided that the busiest wedding weekend of the year in Eureka Springs would be a splendid time to do another of their “perversty on parade” weekends. It is VERY deliberate....and a lot of people are extremely angry about it. There was an article in the paper last week saying that weddings, which are a major business in Eureka Springs, are way down this year (funny how that lines up with the approval of “domestic partnerships”). I’ve talked to several business owners here who are closing their doors and leaving because of it, and others who are angry and just refuse to cater to it. They, of course, are practically driven away then by the perversity zealots. Some of the oldest and best established businesses in downtown Eureka Springs have closed. The queers are killing tourism here, especially when you consider that the majority of tourism here is focused on weddings and Christian activities.

Why cater to 95% of the population when we can limit ourselves to 5%?

Well I have to leave for a bit.
Al wanted fish Chow-da for tomorrow night to go with the shrimp cocktail. So I’ll make it today, have some for supper tonight and it will be even better tomorrow night after melding for a day.
We just got a bone-in Prime Rib to have with roasted pots, fresh green beans, Yorkshire pudding, and stuffed celery, with Apple Pie for dessert...(I’ll make the pie tomorrow so I won’t have to do all my cooking in one day.)
