looks like the Boys are already on the clock.Or it could be Atlanta on the clock as well, they may not win a game this year.

However, Cedric Benson did stink it up. Just awful. He was frustrating as hell to watch. There were a few moments that he was very effective, and then others where he was a total dud. He did have a nice 11 yard run. Peterson's numbers were slightly better, but then he coughed up a fumble too. Those fumbles hurt more than anything. It killed drives and kept the D on the field too long.
I can understand Benson's mistakes, being a second year man but Peterson has been around a while. I don't think that Thomas Jones would have fared much better though, he was 14 carries for 42 yards yesterday against the Pats. He just took better care of the ball. ( zero fumbles)

Well he could have edited the Encyclopedia Brittanica.

It’s an annual tradition for fans to wildly overreact to week one.

Do you have any info on the status of Yeremiah Bell for Sundays’s game against Dallas? If he’s out, isn’t that a big deal for the Dolphin secondary?

I was listening to ESPN radio at work earlier and you should have heard Trey Wingo try to downplay the Pats win. Mark Schlereth saw it quite differently. I think I’ll go with the guy with 3 Super Bowl rings over the reporter.

It’s hard to imagine anyone other than New England-Indianapolis in the AFC Championship Game (The “Real” Super Bowl)

You might still get a shot at him with the #2 pick if Atlanta winds up with the top pick because they’ll probably grab Brohm.
To: trisham
That’s seven straight wins for the Pats in New Jersey.
To: Nachum
Agreed. None of the those backs had any running room but you’re right that Jones at least held on to the football.
To: dfwgator
I wouldn’t count SD out of that mix quite yet.

My take on week #1 so far...
Impressive
- Indianapolis, at least in the 2nd half. Their defense completely shut down New Orleans, which should worry... well, just about everyone
- New England. On the road in a divisional game, it wasn't even close. Can Randy Moss be a "team player" all year? (Getting 9 for 180+ doesn't hurt his attitude, of course.)
- Pittsburgh. Another road divisional blowout. The Browns may suck, but Pittsburgh did what they needed to do, though they did miss some chances early to blow it open sooner than they did.
Jury's Still Out
- San Diego. Stifled for a half, their defense never let Chicago take advantage, and kept them in the game long enough to let Tomlinson get a few big plays, which is all they needed.
- Tennessee. Road divisional wins are always good, but I'm not sure how strong Jacksonville is.
- Dallas. Did either defense show up for this game?
Ruh-roh!
- Philadelphia. Yeah, it was on the road, but the offense shouldn't be this bad.
- Kansas City. Losing to Houston is a big step toward missing the playoffs.
- Miami. Washington isn't a good enough team to make this loss sting less. Where's the offense?
- New York (both). Gotta do better than that against divisional foes.
There's no point even talking about how bad Atlanta is...

Apparently they were more impressed with the ex-Vol Washington.

Jacksonville is another version of the Ravens. If they ever get an offense then we’ll worry about them.

True. Atlanta looks worse than Oakland did last yr if that's possible. Brohm to the Falcons would seem like a lock. Question is, what's he gonna do to establish his street cred? He's from Louisville, right, so maybe he'll fight horses or something.
Funny thing about Cleveland is that they actually have some top talent in Joe Thomas, Soldja, Braylon Edwards, Jurevicius, K Wimbley, and now Quinn. Their failings are attributable to the coaching staff, imo. They should be better, and it's fine with me starting in 2008 if they are.

Philadelphia. Yeah, it was on the road, but the offense shouldn't be this bad. But, but, the media says McNabb walks on water?
