Their father was with them.
Are you embarrassed about your little outburst now?
13 and 10 is old enough to be away from mommy and daddy’a apron strings anyway.
The mine, believed to be inactive, is located in Chloride, about 17 miles north of Kingman. It was next to a dirt road, concealed by brush and had no signs or barriers.

Thanks for the update.
Damn. and there are more abandoned mines still out there..
I had heard a radio report this morning that the father was ahead of them and then looked back and couldn’t see them..
Parents must be heart sick. It’s too sad for words. Prayers up.
I was in the M/C, ATV business for more than 20 years, as well as a certified MSF instructor...basic and advanced. I can’t tell you how many children were killed or maimed by riding having no proper training, protective gear, and attentive parents/guardians to guide and control their actions.
In case you don't know, or have forgtten, it was a 13 year old and his friend riding under the view of his Father, that was the legal case that got the ATV ban in the 80's in the U.S., right here in Georgia. This, in and of itself, says your 13 and 10 year old's are mature enough to ride without supervison statement is without knowledge and fore thought. Parents/Guardians should ride in FRONT, or to the immediate side, of their children, children should have pointed out for them the dangers of the areas they are riding in, and warned to stay clear of them before entering that area. Sometimes, a slow ride around the area led by a responsible adult is necessary.
It’s obvious to an experienced observer, such as I am, that most, if not all, of this did not take place.
So, yeah, I stand by my comments.
