Oh man, what was I thinking?
How could you forget the name of my guy who will next year be making 1 billion dollars for the yankees. Everyone here in MN has come to terms with the notion that there’s no way the Twinks can resign him.
Who is that? Ryan vs Ventura?
I was present as an eager 9 year old at one of the most amazing games ever, when the Reds beat the Phillies 19-17:

This is the feather in Angelo’s cap. 10 straight years the O’s havent been able to play even .500 ball after meddling; spending millions on mediocrities, now culminating in this humiliation against an awful Rangers team. If he had any dignity whatsoever he’d take the elevator to the top of Alka Seltzer Clock and take a swan dive head first into the Chesapeake Bay Inner Harbor... A totally pathetic owner and team.

Cool, thanks!!
THere were 3 batters with 4 hits and 2 batters with 5 hits..... I wonder how often that has ever happened, given that even a 4-hit game is relatively rare?
Pete Rose was walked several times and would sprint down to first (”Charlie Hustle”) on the off chance that he might see a chance to break for 2nd..... I detest what he did with gambling, etc. but there’s no question it was an amazing experience to watch the intensity of Pete Rose play the game of baseball..... and even though I was a young Phillies fan, seeing Rose, Bench, and Perez play the way they played was what impressed me most, even years before the fame of the “Big Red Machine”......

I just got back from both games...
MELTDOWN!!!
Thanks, yeah that was another wild one for the Phillies — at least they won that one!
p.s. I’m really a lifelong Red Sox fan, but since I lived a lot of years near Philly they became my “National League” team. Of course, if it had ever come down to a Red Sox vs. Phillies World Series then the Red Sox would have taken precedence...... :^)
Save the ticket stub.
Ha, sweep for the Rangers, not a good night to be an Orioles fan........

I have to say I loved watching the Reds 1969 - 1975, even though I was always rooting for either the Red Sox (’75 World Series) or Phillies. ‘75 World Series was such a heartbreaker!!!!! (except for you fortunate Reds fans)
But no sports fan could fail to admire and enjoy the quality of teams the Reds fielded in those days..... to see Rose, Bench, Morgan, and Perez, et al, on the field was just incredible.
Actually, anyone paying attention to the O's this season would know that, despite this glaring rout, they are playing their best baseball since 1997.
2 out of 3 is not a sweep. Enjoy your games though because, that aside, the Rangers aren’t exactly sittin’ pretty.
You’re right. They are doing alright, although tonight’s abomination puts the bullpen into perspective. They. Must Go.
re: ‘sweep’
It is common in baseball to refer to winning both games of a doubleheader as a ‘sweep’ — that is what I was referring to.
I could not care less about the Rangers, for I am a RED SOX FAN (best record in the majors!!!)
