I want a t-shirt that says something like “I <3 ?:;—(),!”

OK, first chapter done and transcribed.

Heh...yeah, it’s been almost impossibly slow for weeks. Again.

I think every year they’re able to upgrade the site hardware enough to meet last year’s server load...but every year there are just enough extra participants to slow things to a crawl again.

After some internal debate, I have posted my first chapter over at NaNo.

Let me warn y'all, however, it is not a "nice" or "sweet" or "pleasant" chapter. In fact, I almost didn't post it, knowing that some of my writing buddies' sensibilities would be perturbed. It's rated R and nobody's having a good time (if they were having a good time, the rating would be closer to an NC-17 or an X).

Can't have a damsel in distress without some distress ...

X? So there’s, er, “naughty” things going on?

Its been slow since August. I sent ‘em twenty five clams but it didn’t seem to help much.

<smiling> It's a romance novel, so, yes, there are naughty things going on.

I have a habit --- tradition? --- of including a naked person in the first chapter of my NaNo novels. Usually the naked person is a bagatelle, not a part of the main story line. This year, however, the first-chapter nakedness is incidental to the plot, but the character is vital.

Later naughtiness --- the fun stuff --- well, further deponent sayeth not.

Oh and speaking of compulsions...

The first of the season's Clementines (cute wittle orwanges) are in the stores. I think I've had four today. I love Clementines.

We're fans of Honeycrisp apples, presently available in stores ... just ate one, and oh my, it tasted good!

I like those oranges, as long as the acid doesn’t both my stomach. Afk, going for a hot bowl of soup.

I like any apple if it’s good and crisp...Fuji and Braeburn are good, too.

Growing up, there were Macintosh apples EVERYWHERE, and very little else. And I hated ‘em. They always felt horribly mushy to me. The selection is better there now, but for years I thought I really just didn’t like apples very much unless they were in pie. Then I got to Germany where we often had Braeburns and was astounded by how good apples could be.

I’m amazed at the variety we have here in Washington! It’s really neat. This time of year, you can get pretty much any type you can think of.

That’s a very nice crate for Barkley; kinda like a condo with the bed in there. He actually doesn’t look all that unhappy about being in there.

Yard work done and Gypsy has been walked; we went up to our park, the one getting the new aquatic center. Right now said aquatic center is one BIG hole in the ground. Waved to neighbors and the vet-gal walking one of the dogs. All in all a pretty good day.

Because of your comment, I just *had* to get at least one Honeycrisp, even though they were pricier than some varieties. Just had one as an afternoon snack.

You’re right. They’re goo-ood.

He actually slept in it much of the afternoon :~) He likes it ;~)

Gidget seemed a bit put-out to be told to try it. Especially with the cat watching.

Heh...great expression. “Aw, geez. Do you have to humiliate me like this in front of the *cat*??”

Cisco has been for car rides twice today, so hopefully I’m forgiven for the rough handling last night.

As if I was the one who needed to apologize...
