> Dogs are not people, they can’t be controlled at all like a trained officer can, what if you are innocent of the crime that the dog is going after you for?
I would trust the good judgment of a well-trained GSD over just about any human I know: police officer or not.
> If a dog bites me I will fight back, that is just basic human instinct.
If my dog bites you, you will scream and pass out. That’s just basic medical shock.
> They are great tools for officers, but they are just that, not officers themselves.
Officers are great tools for GDSs, but they are not GSDs themselves and can never be: their snouts aren’t long enough, their teeth aren’t sharp enough and they don’t have a big bushy tail.
Still, an Officer under the control of a well-trained GSD is still a very valuable member of the team.
“Just another reason people like you and the mods have made FR a less enjoyable place to visit. Enjoy your master race.”
Why don’t you claim right away that the “mods and I” are Nazis? That way, what little is left of your credibility can be flushed down the drain....LOL.
Look here, wise one (and I use the term sarcastically in case you get a different interpretation) - what’s breaking news for the lowest intellectual denominator on FR (psst...I mean, people like YOU) isn’t necessarily the same thing for the rest of us (99.9% of posters here).
Are you one of those children left behind that we hear so much about? Do you feel “speechul”?
We had a lovely white shepherd/wolf mix who was being considered as a K9. He performed beautifully and had been chosen as one of the absolute best in the class, until they got to the firing range. LOL He ran and hid and had to be dragged out. End of career. Poor Major. He was actually one of the best dogs we ever owned, so intelligent and loving and loyal but thunder? Gun fire? Fireworks? He was LONG gone!
P.S. We’ll keep him anyway. :O)
My husband put in for the K9 squad when he was a cop. His police department had so few dogs that it was virtually impossible to get that assignment, but he never stopped trying. They are great dogs.
