I'm starting to feel the same way. There's nothing on there by Kenny Rogers, Chet Atkins, Mel Tillis, Glen Campbell, Bobby Bare, or Jerry Reed. These guys rate more of a mention than the Dixie Chicks, Tim McGraw, or multiple songs by Alabama (one's enough).
Only 2 George Strait songs??? And they’re both after ‘The Devil went down to Georgia”????
It just ain’t right... reminds me of a country song.
Glad to see 16 tons made the list.
“David Allen Coes great version of Steve Goodmans Perfect Country and Western Song.”
No. 19
Alternate name - thanks!
A huge hole at the front end of the chart is “Proud to be an American” by Lee Greenwood.
You can make a case for Toby Keith and Willie Nelson with “Beer for my Horses.”
King of the Road is a timeless classic. I was 2 when it was released. A couple weeks back, I was about 50 miles into a 100 mile bike ride when I had to stop for a train. I started singing King of the road out loud. (yes, I know all the words) and the song stayed in my head for the rest of the ride.
I’m becoming a Marty Robbins fan.
Glad to see “El Paso” on the list.
“Singin’ the Blues” is another great one.
“Amarillo by Morning” is great song, and George Strait is an incredible performer.
I saw his show 17 years ago at the Missouri State Fair. He and his band are absolute pros. It was also the first time I’d seen a show with big video screens, so it a huge bonus to be able to see George’s handsome face from the nosebleed section.
