Good morning. It was a busy weekend getting ready for VBS. This next two weeks will be really hairy and I could use any spare prayers you all have.
Today’s conversation starter:
What’s your thang, as in “I’m just doin’ my thang”?
I am a reader. What are you?
Morning, Kiddies!
I’ll keep you in my prayers. I know it will help you accomplish the things you need to do. Remember “All things in moderation,” so don’t bite off more than you can get in your mouth! ;o]
Wish I'd done that. I asked for a new position and it looks like I've got it. And my first clear assignment of same is to get myself elected to the board of directors of an European organization!
That's almost Gaelic in expression. If you're a teacher, you'd say the Gaelic equivalent of "There is a teacher in me." However, if you're teaching, you'd say "I am in my teacher-ness."
Isn't that what you wanted?
I'm a baby-hugger.
Bill thinks we’ve acquired a mating pair of anoles. (Anoli?)
Oh, what fun!
ohno
Maybe he’ll be wrong.
We can only hope.
How is Vlad feeling this morning? Is he over the worst of what he had? (I hope!)
Remember All things in moderation, so dont bite off more than you can get in your mouth!
I get that caution a lot. With all due respect I don’t think it applies in this case. I (and those who help in children’s ministry (primarily my wife)) need to do all we can to make VBS impact every kid we can.
The way I see it, we need to be ready, the space visually exciting, the message well thought out and targeted for age, with good sound and good organization, so that we know we have done our very best. We ask for prayer support and we ask the Holy Spirit to touch all those little hearts.
God asks for our best as we participate with Him in building the Kingdom. We need rest to work effectively, certainly, but primarily we have to realize we are playing for very high stakes, even eternal stakes, and be willing to exert ourselves beyond our usual efforts.
God does the heavy lifting and He has been faithful in keeping my wife and I working well. I probably will not slow down, but I appreciate the sentiment.
Me too.
My wife and I have a friendly competition to see who gets to hold the newborns first when they first come to church.
I wasn’t trying to cast aspersions on your spiritual ability. That was farthest from my mind.
My apologies, if you thought that was my intent.
Sorry, no that isn’t it. It’s the constant refrain to slow down.
My simple answer is I wish I could but I can’t and I’m not sure it would be a good idea.
I tend to get the advice from folks who could make it easier by pitching in but instead caution me to attempt less. You obviously are not in that category and I apologize for sounding peckish.
Well, sort of. But I didn't expect to become an American sitting on the board of directors for an organization that is explicitly comprised of European companies. It's not a bad thing, really -- they're a good group of folks, I've known them for many years, and I'm even an honorary member.
Already I see the amount of my travel climbing; I'll be over there at least 4 times a year for their meetings. And they often meet in interesting places.
Vlad’s doing better, but he’s still whiny and clingy. (Not to mention sweaty!)
The doctor listened to his lungs while we were discussing Anoreth’s allergies, and said he sounded somewhat rattly.
She also gave me a developmental questionnaire to fill out about Pat and said she’d evaluate him if I make another appointment.
My husband discourages me from holding little babies! I’ve been getting to hug Vlad a lot while he’s been sick, but it’s wearing my arms out.
Sorry kids.... My day to volunteer in the little library here, so I had two hours away from the computer.
GAH! Withdrawal symptoms!
Bill says the *&(^&&* lizards have laid eggs already. I don’t love this project! Why couldn’t he have decided to finish Landscape Design?
Leapin’ lizards!
I hope said critters in in cages....
*hugs*
