And I’ll bet there are people out there naming their kid “Jeeves,” too.

I actually felt sorry for Malfoy in the last book.

My predictions and questions I NEED answered:

1. Snape is a mean guy, but on the side of good.

2. How much does Petunia really know about the wizarding world?

3. What really happened to Grindelwald?

4. Why is Dumbledore’s brother the bar-man at the Hog’s Head?

5. Where did Fawkes go after the funeral?

6. Harry’s scar is a Horcrux. I dunno how he’ll get rid of it. Maybe it will disappear when he kills Voldemort?

7. Is there something special about Ginny? We keep hearing what a gifted witch she is.

8. Percy is under double-secret cover at the ministry, only Mr. Weasley knows.

9. Fred and George ROCK.

I agree, but there's only so much bad stuff you can do "on the side of good" before you're a liability, at best!

2. How much does Petunia really know about the wizarding world?

Quite a bit, I expect. Her sister would have been home from Hogwarts summers and holidays.

3. What really happened to Grindelwald?

Ah, that's a very deep question!

(Sorry, I don't even know if it's a person, place, or thing!)

4. Why is Dumbledore’s brother the bar-man at the Hog’s Head?

Because he's a loser.

5. Where did Fawkes go after the funeral?

Persia.

6. Harry’s scar is a Horcrux. I dunno how he’ll get rid of it. Maybe it will disappear when he kills Voldemort?

Good guess.

7. Is there something special about Ginny?

Well, she's dishonest and promiscuous ...

We keep hearing what a gifted witch she is.

True, but all the Weasleys are good, even Fred and George. They just didn't feel like studying for exams.

8. Percy is under double-secret cover at the ministry, only Mr. Weasley knows.

LOL! I don't think so.

9. Fred and George ROCK.

100%!

Grindelwald was the dark wizard that Dumbledore defeated before the rise of Voldemort.

Ginny wasn’t a hussy!!

Hmm.

I don’t think you have quite the right definition of “snogging”. :p

I’m using “promiscuous” in a broad sense, rather than limiting it relationships with intercourse ...

And I do think she’s a hussy, nothing personal, what her being fictional and all.

The title of the book will not be "Harry Potter and the Pyramids of Furmat."

No, really?

I like this one, too:

"There will be no character named "Icicle," and JKR said she didn't recall saying there ever would be. "

I suppose “Icicle” could be a pet of some sort ...

Or maybe Vernon’s “private” nickname for Petunia...

LOL! That’s a good one!

The movies don’t bring out Petunia’s cleaning compulsion. She’s definitely a disturbed character.

Cute. I stopped at Pettigrew's silver hand does not kill Lupin because that one was somewhat plausible while the ones before it were either just silly or just out there guesswork. (And besides, I'm thinking that Rowling made that hand silver for a reason, and killing *a* werewolf would be a good reason, even if it didn't say which.)

Some of those "debunked rumors" might be a little too close for spoilers (if only because one thing is mentioned when something else is omitted).

As for Crookshanks, definitely not an Animagus. First of all, that cheapens the whole Pettigrew/family rat thing. Second, someone told me a long time back that Crookshanks isn't an ordinary cat, but actually some animal for that book of magical creatures that was published way back when.

Anyway, I'll have to save the rest for a later read ... unless anyone wants to post the sillier ones.

Weren’t they making fun of Ron calling him “Ickle Won” or something like that. Someone transformed Ickle into Icicle.

Now, see, I think she was just trying to convince herself that she was “over” Harry.

Sorry if you think they’re spoilers. The rumors were debunked by JKR so I thought it would be relevant to this thread.

Oh, no, not your fault. Most of them were silly.
I only stopped because of the silver hand thing, which I've already thought about anyway.
I was only afraid that I might read something else that might be debunked as not true ... but close enough to get me thinking waaaay too much.

There was a guy on another Harry thread that swore up and down that Harry and Ginny went into the forest and had sex in HBP. I think she gets a bad rap because she’s a redhead!

She’s had a total of three boyfriends. And it wasn’t like with Ron who was always lip-locked with Lavender. Ginny was more discreet. I’m a big Ginny fan, because she’s got spunk.

I was just checking out mugglenet, and there is a picture of the cover of Deathly Hallows, the UK version. Harry, Ron, and Hermione appear to be in a battle on top of a pile of gold and jewels, with Ron holding a sword with a large ruby in the hilt. Gryffindor’s sword?
