I had a dog who killed my other dog and I forgave her. If it was my kid I think it would have been a different story.
That’s an unusual looking, but very pretty, kitty.
Our cat eats dry food. I spent about $10 for the “natural, no by-products” cat food at the health food store - 8 lb. bag - and I figure it will last two months.
If she expected canned food, it would cost a lot more!
Sure would! I think dry food is better for them. Mine have such delicate stomachs. But if I try to give them anything but Fancy Feast, they just cry and whine and beg so I give in. They are very spoiled and much loved.
We’ve only had Wednesday about six months. She’s about 10 years old, and when we adopted her (former owners were moving) she was dirty, overweight, and hadn’t had her shots in ... he didn’t remember how long.
I think she probably also had a low-level infection, because she got a urinary-tract infection last month, and since the course of antibiotics, she’s been like a whole new cat. She’s lost almost two pounds (a bag of dry food lasts a long time, when you’re only feeding 1/2 cup a day!), her fur is beautiful, and she’s friendly to everyone but the 3-year-old.
She doesn’t care much for being on a diet, but fortunately, she has a very soft voice!
Thanks. Hey, how are you guys doing since the loss of your pet? You doing okay?
My big dog says, "Right on! Preach it, sister!"
My little dog says, "Hey, wait a minute! Whaddya think I am - chopped liver?"
Becky, I had a manx I adopted, because his owners (my neighbors) kicked him out.
He loved me, but he also loved to bite me. I miss him. (He died of old age.)
It’s still really rough. It was a week as of last Friday.
I find myself thinking of funny or unusual things he did.
I recently learned he was mostly Maine Coon. They make for very unusual cats.
Thanks for asking and God bless you, Sleeping Beauty.

That was obvious from the picture ... nothing else gets that big and fluffy. (Except a massively obese Persian, I guess, but they have those ugly faces.)
Godspeed your recovery!
LOL - that’s just wrong! :oD
We have lost two out of the three Siamese Laser-Powered Viking Kitties that appear in that semi-famous photo that crops up periodically on the "ZOT" threads.
It is very hard to lose a good kitty, but it does get better as time goes by. I can think of them and enjoy the happy memories without feeling sad -- they both died earlier in the year, about two months apart.
I really had no idea what he was. He didn’t “Meow” like any other cat but did a “trilling” with multi syllable's. He didn’t hang around with anyone but me (until a few years ago when he slowly warmed up to Mrs Bear, when he would sit in front of her at attention when she sang).
I figured a lot of his personality was due to being in a cage with ferrets when I got him. That would be enough to effect anyone.
And thank you for your kind words.
Thanks AmericanMother. Those are some cuties.
I am curious about something. Do you know how long cats live normally? My old Bob is around 11 to 13 years old. We got him 10 years ago from the animal shelter and his former owners thought he was about 2 or 3 years old at the time.
LOL How precious!
As my dear husband says, we are overrun with livestock!
We got ours from the animal shelter. He was in a cage because he couldn’t get along with the other cats. He took to me right away. He loves us but he is scared of other people and very unsocial with other animals.
We have 3 dogs and 2 cats and we call them our livestock. LOL
She is reduced to cozying up to the Big Dog for company (no way is she getting near the Crazy Puppy).
