Isn't she 40? No big deal.

The reference is to Fred Thompson and his wife, Jeri. Sorry, did not make that plain in the title. No problem. My reaction now is, "Way to go, Fred!" If Thompson ever becomes a serious candidate, I can't wait for the leftists to start jumping up and down about this.

I think it would only be a problem if she were nothing more than a young, good-looking trophy wife. But she seems smart and articulate, and if she can hold her own under public scrutiny I think it will end up helping Fred instead of hurting him.

Men: Congrats to the ol' dog for bagging a hot young one!
Women: Hmmm...he must be "endowed" or rich...is that what they call gravitas?

People didn't seem to mind when it was Bill and Monica, besides, Fred and Jeri are married--shouldn't matter.

Considering the mountains of baggage being carried by Rudy McRomney, I once again have to think this is another non-issue.
In the current state of affairs in the U.S., as long as it's a man/woman relationship I doubt anyone will care about the age difference other than the terminally anal retentive.

What ever happened to Christian values? How can we suffer men who live with homos and rob cradles like Rudy and Fred?
We need the right honorable Reverend Dobson or Jan and Paul Crouch for guidance.

Compared to the checkered past of Rudy G., the odd problems of McCain and his wife, Newt's Divorce, the Hillary and Bill fiasco I think that is a pretty mild issue. Pre-Clinton it might have been more of an issue, but after the train wreck of 24 hour news coverage and the Clinton years, people's shock meter is reset IMO.
Her personality might be a bigger factor, and I have no idea bout that. Is SHE conservative or a Hollywood trophy wife?

Jeri is soothing to the eyes. Then there is Hil that hurts my eyes a lot.
I'd rather look at Jeri as Freds wife, than looking at Hillery's wife.

How old was she when they married? She was old enough not to be able to see Fred on the other side of the generation gap.

Its a nonissue for me,too.
To: OldPossum
Suppose we put this in it's likely context. Do you think Bill will be viewed as a plus or minus for Hillary's presidential run? Will he be a bigger negative than Jeri is for Fred?
