LOL And I thought (as did Darling Daughter) that it was a major accomplishment that we had a civil-to-nearly pleasant lunch a few weeks back.
Too bad Ratboy missed it...

I think your lunch may well be a feat! I bet your daughter was very happy about that.
To: nicmarlo
I think so. We were all pretty astonished.

This is good, nully. I’m genuinely pleased to hear about that. It’s good for you and your ex, but good most of all for your daughter.
I know kids are better off when their parents can be civil and show some kind of affection or kindness, even if/when it’s difficult. My kids sure have appreciated it, and have often told me so. They’re very glad that their parents have maintained closeness and respect, in general, despite our disagreements at times, over the years. Apparently, it’s also a topic of conversation between my children and their friends as it’s so “odd” that our relationship has been, for the most part, decent, joking, and even caring at times.
So, it’s all good, in the end.

Last year we had a parent teacher meeting and the teacher made some comment about dividing parental support for Ratboy's homework duties.
When we indicated that her scheme wouldn't work because we simply couldn't divide duties across single evenings due the visitations schedule, she was astonished.
Her comment was that she could always tell when one of her students was a child of divorce, always.
With Ratboy, she had absolutely no idea.
We couldn't have begged, borrowed, or stolen a better complement.

It’s good to see you back posting Conservababe. Sorry to hear that 2007 has brought you so much pain.
Prayers up that your second surgery will be successful and minimize your pain.
