I had to go back to the boneyardLOL - you got one of those, too? Hard to part with old macs.... they still work, just not as zippy.
BTW, does Firefox work any better that Safari on those sites?

"does Firefox work any better that Safari on those sites?"
The most common issue is the codecs in WMP and Real. Some that work on Tiger PPC do not work on Tiger Intel. There are also a few places where ActiveX is the problem. There is an addin for Firefox called something like User Agent Switcher which lets Firefox trick the website into thinking it is talking to a modern IE. I also install Flip4Mac but find it best when you install it then use preferences to tell the plugin not to load. Then a few of the otherwise inaccessible websites opine, "can't play clip with WMP plugin. would you like to try the stand alone player." This is a good workaround.
I also heard that if you force safari to run in rosetta mode it does better with WMP files.
All in all I found the number of none working websites with no workaround to be up 25-30% on Intel.
If you buy through Zones you can get Parallels with XP pretty cheap and that is my ultimate solution.
I think Apple has some work to do in web compatibility. some sales, some technical and some political.

Good grief. Does dial up still exist? This download only took a couple of minutes. One of the easiest upgrades I have ever gotten for a Mac OS.

They sort of glossed over what the security updates are. Any ideas what they patched?

They should release it
on a bootable thumb drive
for standard PCs . . .
