It will be interesting to see what charges, if any, the father will face.

Premeditated murder? I can see not an armed citizen ping because it's not your usual break-in story but I can imagine the father's outrage over some 27 year old guy with his 13 year old daughter. It especially depends on what the argument was about; you don't know what the *boyfriend* said. In this case, I'D give him the benefit of the doubt.

Sounds premeditated to me. In TX a capital murder charge could attach to such a shooting.

Since it wasn't in response to a direct immediate threat
to life it was not a shoot in self defense.

While a lot of folks may think that extralegal executions
(murders) are OK, I don't think the Harris Co DA will.
