going through some old files - "I don't know why" I didn't note where this came from. Any ideas ? Surely this came from FR, but I don't know who.

P.S. It may have been posted elsewhere on the Internet, but it looks like Ed Evans, MGySgt., USMC (Ret.) was the original writer.

"I sat in a movie theater, watching "Pearl Harbor" and asked myself, "Why weren't we prepared"

The author needs to read some history before declaring he knows why we weren't prepared for Pearl. Chances are, he doesn't,

Amen, brother. That's the reason I joined the Army five years ago, and will continue to serve for the next 15 years. I know what's going on. I'm not a sheep like the majority of the American people. How short of a memory they have. To complain that we've lost over 3,000 troops since Iraq started in 2003, but not remember we lost about 3,000 civilians (women and children included) in ONE DAY!!! What part of "September 11th, We Will Never Forget," did the American people forget? I KNOW WHY!!!

That claim has already been debunked, I believe.

Rock on, Nathan! I appreciate your service very much and I'm glad there are a lot of Americans in service like you who are willing to see what's going on are also willing to fight for freedom rather than take if for granted and complain. Great post, thank you.

Good post! I agree 100%.

I have Schindler's List in my DVD library, along with Flight 93 and World Trade Center. I don't want to EVER FORGET the evil in this world, past and present.

"Did I get the rest correct, Bob?"

Yes, all the rest of it is correctly spelled.

My fingers have been mounting an insurrection against me lately, as well.

Sometimes I have to call in reinforcements and use the spell-checker.

(Actually, I keep a dictionary/encyclopedia CD in the slot. I use it quite frequently.)

At 61, I've learned to increase dexterity and circulation via precise doses of alcohol. I have a few recipes, if you're interested. [Margaritas are not on the list, by the way, but Corona with Bacardi's Limon is, as is Long Island Iced Tea. Diabetics need not enquire ...]

As of this date, I am now 62.

I'm ready to believe them when they say ethanol will solve our problems. I even invented a recipe of my own.

A really good Ruby Port does wonders ... Windby's Port, of Washington State, is the very best I've found regardless of costs (it's about $15/bottle). Ask for the Ruby. 6oz is all it takes to increase circulation and bring a smile to the face.

Boy, I'll say! I used to visit a girlfriend in another state with a bottle of port.

I was really circulating in those days!

"... you had good taste in women."

I surely did.

Too good, though. She decided to dump me.
