Where in the state are you?
No I think Gore is in hollywood to announce his run for potus.
I saw that on the Parkway East one day several years ago. Must be more common than we think.
Westmoreland County (east of the Burgh).
My former mother in law was an expert deer hunter, but with her car. She'd call my BIL, a bigtime hunter, who always claimed the carcass. I probably ate as much venison as beef when i lived nearby.
Here in NW Indiana, it's raining ice. Snow to come.
Advisory for your neck of the woods:
... Freezing Rain Advisory in effect from 4 am to 3 PM EST
Sunday...
The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh has issued a Freezing
Rain Advisory... which is in effect from 4 am to 3 PM EST Sunday.
The Winter Storm Watch is no longer in effect.
One to two tenths of ice coating is expected on Sunday morning and
afternoon. Precipitation may begin before daybreak as snow with
some light accumulation possible... but warming temperatures above
the surface will change the precipitation to sleet and freezing
rain as the morning progresses.
This wintry precipitation is associated with a strong low
pressure system that will develop over the Midwest.
A Freezing Rain Advisory means that periods of freezing rain or
freezing drizzle will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for
slippery roads. Slow down and use caution while driving.
The National Weather Service also advises that residents and
emergency managers monitor the development of this system via NOAA
Weather Radio... the Weather Service internet pages... or other
local news media.
...Further north near Interstate 80... 3 to 5 inches of snow of will fall during the late morning and afternoon hours... topped by a layer of sleet and perhaps a thin layer of freezing rain Sunday evening as the precipitation lightens up.
There still is a lower probability that the bulk of the precipitation could fall as mainly snow. In this case... snow accumulations would be higher between Route 22 and Interstate 80...in the 5 to 9 inch range before any changeover to lighter sleet or freezing rain occurs late Sunday and Sunday night...
guess i shouldn'ta put the snowblower back in the shed quite yet .. :-(
Hey, I figure roadkilled venison has already been tenderized...
I'm in Jackson county. We just had a little light snow but it's stopped again.
Many thanks...when I leave FR to go elsewhere, I tend to loose my connection (here). Thanks for saving me the work. Another fun day ahead? Hoping not to loose power (again).
Freezing rain and ice have already caused some power lines to go down. I have wood all stacked in the fireplace ready for the match should ours go too.
Doesn't sound all that bad out your way, unless you get 2,000 stranded motorists in your front yard.
Somebody needs to get out to where there's a huge snowbank and spraypaint "AN INCONVENIENT TRUTH" on it.
Then send me the picture.
LOL!
I might do it ;)
Really, within walking distance of the PA Turnpike...could happen. But I won't blame dirtboy...only Fast Eddie.
Jackson is (or was) deer strike capitol of the dang world.
