we have had NO snow this year, slip. we had a snowday last week for a ridiculously SMALL amount of snow. Today i have already had an email from xsbrownie's school that they are dismissing 2 hours early bc Fairfax Co is dismissing 2 hours early. i have to go to the websites for the other two schools to see about xsboy and xsteen. xsteen is the only one i am worried about really, as she is the only one driving. xsboy takes the subway home, so it doesn't matter as much.

i can't stand the early dismissal, it makes it so much more dangerous. i realize it was barely starting this AM at 5 am, but the forecast is for it to get substantially worse throughout the day. i imagine tomorrow WILL be a snow day, but there is nothing worse as a parent than having them turn your kid loose early and the weather being bad. i remember 2 years ago it took me over 2 hours to get to xsbrownie's school, which is normally a 20 min trip from my ofc, the weather was an ATROCITY. luckily the administrators stuck around for the kids that didn't have anyone able to get there to get them that fast.
xshub had to drive down to richmond to give a speech. there were school closings south of us, but he said that when he was about down to Fredericksburg that it wasn't doing anything yet.

The Weather Channel has been showing all the snow going into D.C. What's that about? So much for talking airheads!
this is SOOOO dang aggravating. xsbrownie's school goes by Fairfax Co. they are dismissing at 1pm, i got the email already. Gonzaga, where xsboy is, goes by Montgomery Co. MD school dist, which is dismissing 2.5 hours early,except it says in the case of early dismissal they make their OWN decisions. so who the hell knows what they are doing. Visitation goes by Montgomery Co. as well, but i have no idea if they are dismissing early or not either. Well the only one i have to drive to to pick up, i do know about, so i guess i should count myself lucky!
Speaking of snow. We are supposed to get between 4 and 8 today, and another 3 to 8 overnight. Supposedly.

I hope he can get back home before it gets too bad. How long does it take him to get to Richmond from home? For some reason 3.5-4 hours sticks in my mind to get there from here, which is actually shorter than getting from here to you.
Richmond's only about 2 hours in normal weather. i konw the salt trucks are out on the beltway already bc i saw them, so i guess 95 south is being treated as well.

That has got to be annoying as all get out. I forget where we were going one day last week, but I had mentioned to coolbreeze about how you have to deal with the different districts in regard to weather issues and he just shook his head. It must have been Wednesday when he was taking me to the Lodge.
