Amusing how Bush can't seem to find the time to pardon these guys. Considering the slime he's made time for in the past. What a crock of...nevermind, don't want to get banned.

And you know the only thing more enraging than this article? The fact that I forgot to check the paragraph function when I copied and pasted!

I dunno. I wonder if they were violently beaten by Mexican thugs for doing their job.

I truly hope that that is sarcasm.

Perhaps you should learn a little bit about the actual case rather than just who was involved before you demand they be pardoned.

They covered up a shooting. That is unacceptable, regardless of the despicable nature of the bad guy.

The offenses seem bad on the surface but pardons can be used for someone who has been railroaded. Of course i'm cynical so i'll say that at least some of these must be inapropriate.

Did he pardon the Border Patrol agent that just got beaten up in prison by a bunch of illegal scum?

I'm no expert on the process of receiving a presidential pardon, but I wouldn't think it happens overnight (some of those cases are over 50 years old!). I would guess that the lawyers for these two agents are working the process, filing appeals, etc., and won't give up until real justice is served on their behalf. One can only never give up hope.

Almost all of these cases are for crimes that are mostly small time. It seems like they served their time, although a lot of traffickers in drugs are on the list.

If most of these had served their sentences, why the pardons? They were guilty, did their time, and that's that. As for commutations of sentences, if some small time crooks or fools had too much of a sentence to serve for the crime, I'm fine with that. I just don't get the purpose of most of these pardons.

With the exception of one (that I read), all of the pardons were for non-violent crimes. the one exception was an armed bank robbery.

"They covered up a shooting.'

That may not be a fact.

Have you seen National Border Patrol Council Rebuts Compean-Ramos Prosecution Claims?
