Mr Gates also defended the pricing of Vista, which is twice as expensive in Europe compared to the US.... Maybe they decided to roll the EU legal fees and fines into the price of the product.

It appears that 'Vista' has a lot of added new resource-hogging and big-brother 'features' which some people would just as soon avoid. (Note to self: Research current development status and reviews of various Linux distros... soon.)
