Bill Parcells Announces Retirement

Thanks for the excellent Peter King piece. He's right, you know. Parcells is volatile and difficult, but ultimately, a likable guy. I thoroughly enjoyed his near daily press conferences during the season for the insight in his considerable football expertise and for the pure entertainment value. Where many people saw a grumpy, aging man, I perceived a driven perfectionist engrossed in his life's calling.

I do believe he'd had enough though, and leaving was the right thing to do. There won't be another like him along anytime soon.
