Thanks for the post. I've frequently found myself frustrated that elected officials get away with murder (sometimes literally) for which the public would be jailed and sued.

As one of the parents said, "They picked the wrong families." and the quality of the defense attorneys, and their conduct of due diligence, has been superb.

I, too, have to join the side that hopes that Duke, Durham, and Nifong, get nailed for damage$ which will provide amply to all concerned for life.

The stories I'd like to see and which I haven't been able to find yet, are what exactly happened when some of these commie profs called lax players rapists in their classrooms? I mean, if a professor or teacher of any sort ever called me a rapist in his classroom it might easily get sort of ugly and, for sure, that would be the last minute I ever sat in the clown's classroom.

They told the truth, and too many people couldn't handle the truth.

Libs are fond of intoning that "truth is subjective" in philosophy classes etc. It all sounds very high-minded until you realize they are attempting to declare there is NO morality - Christianity-based or otherwise. Very convenient for certain segments of the liberal coalition, if you know what I mean.

Ironic, then, that there was an objective truth here (i.e., the boys were innocent) and that the usual suspects chose to ignore/deny that truth. Suddenly, the philosophers are very interested in crime and punishment - except there's no crime to punish here.

I'm not sure if there are a lot of those stories per se. There has been mention of them from time to time in the articles. A civil lawsuit would bring out a LOT of those stories, and more than a few professors would NOT like to be cross-examined in front of a civil jury trying to explain their comments and actions. I will make a helpful and friendly suggestion to Duke University. Advise your lawyers to enter into negotiations with the accused and the rest of the team. It will be expensive, but settle it quick lads, settle it quick. And uh, throw the Gang of 88 under the bus as quickly as you did the Lacrosse Team. And be sure to tell them that if they did nothing wrong, they shouldn't need to hire lawyers.

To liberals, the hunt for truth is not a search for what is "truth," but rather an inquisition to extract words and phrases to support their preconceived conclusions.

Mike Nifong could be the Attorney General of the United States during the next Democratic administration. After all Ramsey Clark was AG for Lyndon Johnson.

He was trying to become the next Janet Reno or Scott Harshbarger.

One of the families is well off, although the other two are of more modest means. The statement about the mommies cannot be more true. You can hurt me. You can hurt my husband. No big deal. But you go for my babies and you are in for a world of pain and suffering. No question.

Add this to the mix;

Expert Admits "Big Error" In Duke Case;

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2007/01/11/60minutes/main2352512.shtml

This actually brings into question every DNA case that the county has ever prosecuted; AND every case Dr. Brian Meehan, who withheld the DNA analysis has ever done, not to mention every case his company, or any company he has worked for, has been a part of - this whole thing is so much larger than it looks.

If they follow the trail, it could result in finding other DA's in the country who withheld evidence. This whole thing could be national.

After the way Duke University dealt with this case and with the three accused, not enough bad things can happen to that school and to it's administration and to it's faculty! What a disgrace to justice, fair play and the presumption of innocence! Duke is a school that should disappear from our educational landscape.

This basic reality is that the job of DA should not exist. We need to bag the entire adversarial system of justice and go with an inquisitorial system like you see in some European countries in which the common incentive of all parties involved is to determine truth and reality. NOBODY should ever have any sort of a career or money incentive to put people in prison. The job of DA is a magnet for psychopaths like Fong or Janet Reno.

For anybody who hasn't figured it out yet, here's the reason the Fong caved just now: he took a hard look at that last version of the ho's story which they came out with last week, and realized he was going to get laughed out of the courtroom.

James Coleman of the Duke Law School said what Fong and the ho were doing with their latest statement was "mooning the system".

Well, if they marinate the crow long enough in teriyaki sauce it might be palatable.

The mommies aren't any more pissed than the bar association and the legal profession in NC

While the bar association may be disappointed in Nifong, the mommies want him six feet under.

If the "new black panthers" ever figure out how bad they've been played, they might want in on it.

This whole fiasco has caused irreparable damage to those three young men and I think everyone involved in it should pay through the nose so it never happens again. You don't play with young lives like that.

Actually, I think that because the case has gone on this far and gotten so ridiculously out of hand will now work to the kids advantage when they go out in the world. Had it been settled 8 months ago, then there would have always been a shadow over there names. But now that everything is out these boys are going to come away looking like heros. They outed a bad guy.

Now if their parents will just take them to the woodshed and give it to them for being at the party in the first place, then all will be okay.
