Or just a greedy, litigious bitch and a greedy, seedy lawyer.

This Smith gal was certainly in the position to get a heck of a scoop
at NCCU. I doubt there was the instinct or motivation, even if the
NYT used her for background. The Campus Echo struggles to get
printed once every two weeks. There is still one lulu of a story being
covered-up over at Central, I'll speculate. Reason why Ammons is
being shifted out as Chancellor.

That's not a bad idea:

The Black College Wire

Denita Smith, an English junior, is from Charlotte, N.C. "I felt beautiful on the inside this morning," she says, "and I wanted my clothes to reflect that." According to Smith, "Fashion is what one makes of it. There is no definition for fashion." Smith plans to study entertainment law. She is a photojournalist with the student newspaper.

Beautiful girl. Her death, a needless tragedy. Who in the world could cut short her promising life?

I vaguely remember hearing about it. It doesn't surprise me that it was Garcetti. He's a slimeball. He's also single-handedly responsible for OJ getting a walk from that jury.

I perfectly concur with you. A beautiful young lady, working on her masters. I really would like to find her murderer. From all I've read through thus far, she seemed a very nice young lady with a bright and positive outlook on life.

I did find that she and the other reporter who "refused" to spill the beans about CGM were on the same committee at NCCU. Nothing specific there to quote.

I love it!

I wonder if any of the other 87 did anything negative like this to any of the other players.

Is there a photo of Kim Curtis available?

“This hurts really bad,” Johnson said.

Yes, it does.

And her murderer is running loose in, possibly, Durham.

Prof: cop heavy-handed

Says Citation is bogus By Ebony McQueen Echo Staff Reporter

After reading an article about the arrest of a Campus Echo photographer, assistant English professor Janice Dargan decided to come forward about an incident she had with Officer T.D. Hart.

“When I saw the article I thought it was very coincidental that I had an encounter with the same officer,” said Dargan.

I yet have those vivid images and memory of parents on TV asking why their cases, that of their children being murdered in Durham, has been given short shift to CGM's case. What's another murder in Durham, but another instance of burying the dead by a liar and her liar DA.

Yes, she was an NCCU student reporter/editor. She is black and struggled with whether or not to report what she'd learned through a series of interviews of Mangum's neighbors and other acquaintances. She ultimately decided not to publish the report because Mangum is black, too, and felt that it would be race betrayal if she did.

If it turns out the suspect is black, we'll never hear another word about it.

Yep, a race betrayal; or the "brothers" would punish her if she did.
