"Some Ohio stores are stocking up on alligator meat in anticipation of demand from Ohio State fans planning pregame feasts for Monday's championship between the top-ranked Buckeyes and the No. 2 Florida Gators.
"Akron's West Point Market is selling alligator meat for $14.99 a pound. Columbus-area Meijer stores are selling frozen alligator fillets for $6.99 a pound, telling customers in an advertisement to "bring home your own slice of gator." The advertisement for the Meijer promotion includes a drawing of a snarling buckeye nut with the tail of an alligator sticking out of its mouth."
Louisville has had good teams for a number of years though none were as good as this one. Rutgers was the pits for decades and improved vastly this last two years. Both have upgraded their schedules and can NOW beat the upgrades. Boise has generally had teams with a lot of victories but has not upgraded their schedule to the extent necessary to gain national recognition. Perhaps it will in the future.
I enjoyed watching them play and almost always root for the underdog but am not convinced they are even close to the top five teams.
Something tells me it might be a lower scoringgame. Maybe 21-17. Does anyone know what conference the refs will be from. I assume it won't be Big Ten or SEC refs but rather they'll be from another conference. What kind of game will they call? I'll never forget th 1994 FSU-Nebraska game. The refs literally handed Bobby Bowden his first national championship.
..and Hillary Clinton is the most wonderful person on our planet and we should all stive to be more like her in every way so that the world will be a better place and we can then all live in peace and harmony. LOL!
"All Your Championship Are Belong to Us!!!"
Great thread Mike .. thank you. As I posted on state thread..Macedonia Winking lizard is where many of us will "hang" for game. Half price pizza & 4 dollar 32 oz Killians..
Lots of fun & spirit anywhere. Sure I could watch at home but there is something about "being with spirited crowd" if you cant afford/get tickets to the actual game.
I WISH THEY WOULD PLAY THE LIVE HALFTIME SCRIPT OHIO THOUGH..nutty band show geek that I am!
yeah my new next door neighbor will be watching the game in HD....and he's going to bring the food, so I get to select the beer :)
It's gonna rock.
On the menu???
GATOR
Local station WCMH4 said they will be and interviewed the Fox Sports director.
I like Ohio State, because I think they're the better team, but don't count the Gators out...
LOL
That's the first original thing the GaYtor fans have put up, but even that's old....
Two words for ya:
Tommie Frazier
well..sounds good! boring vegetarian that I am , will pass on the gator actual, but will got with the virtual.
I wouldn't and don't either if that makes sense.
Florida can win this game if Ohio State lets them stay close or if Ohio STate turns the ball over.
Without a doubt Florida can win it.
but I think Ohio State WILL win it.
Oh crap, he's playing for OSU?!?! I guess we're doomed.
I would say we did a pretty good job against the QB, who is going to be the top-rated QB in the draft, JaMarcus Russell. I think there are a lot of similarities between him and Troy Smith, so I like the Gators chances. (Although I would feel a lot better if Marcus Thomas hadn't decided that his love of weed was more important than winning a championship. Oh Well!)
Florida can win if the Buckeyes let them. IMO, there's no way else the Gators can win. Of course, I'm an SEC observer...
Florida can win if they score more points than Ohio State. There is no way else the Gators can win.
I honestly hope the Gators do it, but I won't be holding my breath. This reeks of the Nebraska game in 1996...
