LOL...well I don't have the patience....but I don't know what else to do...
Becky
Thanks:)
I'm feeling so much better, and better about myself:)
After I got home from Wa last year I packed it on...I guess all that chocolate and laying on the couch I did from the broken arm, and back problem finally caught up with me. It seemed overnight in about Aug....every day I was 5 lbs heavier.
Becky
I agree!
What the heck is the matter with you, Tuffydoodle?
Yes, good post Becky.
Good luck with the Catman, Hair.
Rocky is shedding a lot now, but Harley hasn't even started.
I'm going to worm them tho this afternoon when I feed, maybe that will get something started.
Becky
Good luck with Cartman, Hair, he's one beautiful cat, and sounds like a real character. Don't beat yourself up, either, whatever the outcome. He's been a lucky boy to have you!
Ping Slings again when you get the vet advice, so we can follow up on him. :)
We got all ready to go out to lunge horses... ecurbh too, and ~this~ is what we see.... How can we go out and disturb that?
Thanks.... will do :~)
Thanks... I do think tuffy was just tryin' to come to my defense, and I appreciate it.
LOL...that is beautiful...
Harley was in the same position yesterday and today when I went out to ride...you're a nicer person then I, I got him up:)
Becky
Mine are just beginning to shed too. I can run my hand over their backs and get some, but not great gobs or anything.
Sleepin' horsies in the sun...now that's a relaxing picture. I wouldn't bother them either. Wait 'til they get up.
We'll give them a few minutes... two out of three are up now.
Foal Injured During Attempted Theft Dies Tue Mar 6, 10:41 AM ET
A foal that was badly injured during an attempted theft Saturday died late Monday night.
Someone tried to steal the foal and its brother from Pure Thoughts Foal and Horse Rescue of South Carolina, located on Horseshoe Road outside Honea Path.
The organization is caring for 30 foals and horses. The farm is part of a larger operation based in Florida. They rescue horses that have been seized by the state, abandoned by their owners, or that are headed to slaughter.
Tracy Steigler said she found her seven-month-old quarter horse, Fitch, lying 150 yards down her driveway listless and nearly dead. His brother, Abercrombie, was running loose on the property.
Lyn DeCosta, with Pure Thoughts, said, "Fitch has a tendency -- when you put him on a feed rope, he lies down. It's his trick. And because they couldn't lead him they dragged him to try to get him off the property."
They called an area veterinarian to treat the foal. Dr. Mike Patterson said Fitch was in serious shock and had cuts, bruises and some broken teeth, and the prognosis was not good.
Still, Steigler says the vet bills could set them back several thousand dollars. Her rescue partner, Decosta said it will hurt their operation.
Now, they're looking for volunteers and any financial help for the nearly thirty animals cared for on the farm.
"Everything is done on donations or when the donations run out, out of our pocket. We're both working people we don't have tons of money," Decosta said.
You can find out more about how to help, go to saveafoal.com.
They want the public to know about the operation, that exists solely on donations, and they also want people to know that if anyone can't take care on an animal, they will take it in and find it a good home.
DeCosta said, "Horse theft is on the rise. It's quick money for unsavory unscrupulous people. You steal a horse and take it to an auction you get $200 to $300. We wanted that put out in the public."
The Abbeville County Sheriff's Office is investigating the incident and has increased patrols in the area.
Oh dear... what a shame.
Worming sounds like a good idea. I haven't wormed mine since Christmas so it's past due. Thanks for reminding me!
Yeah - we've got wormer sitting here too.... it's an all-worm!
Putting meds in yogurt works too. You just had to find a flavor that they like. We had a TB that was nuts for key lime flavored yogurt.
ATVs and motorcycles are a challenge for any horses compsure. I was riding a laid back appy once and she took off like someone lit a firecracker under her tail when she heard a dirtbike go wizzing by.
Mine are about a month over due, I usually worm every month, but in the winter I slack a bit.

Curly (I mean Blade) has not started to shed yet but Jake and my 25 year old mare has. Once Blade starts it will look like it snowed around my pasture with all the white hair laying around!
